Description
12-Day Sea Kayaking Expedition from Loreto to La Paz
Experience one of the most remote and breathtaking stretches of Baja California Sur on this 10-day sea kayaking expedition from Loreto to La Paz. Paddle along the dramatic Sierra de la Giganta, where towering cliffs plunge into the turquoise waters of the Sea of Cortez, and wild beaches offer a new landing and a new adventure each day.
Over the course of the journey, you’ll camp under the stars, snorkel in pristine waters, explore hidden trails, and spot marine wildlife. The snorkeling spots are impressive, and dolphin watching is practically guaranteed. We're sure to see whales, dolphins, turtles, and manta rays, and we'll be able to fish and catch our own food. Most days end with a relaxing Happy Hour on the beach and freshly prepared meals, often made with fish caught right from the kayak.
A mid-trip resupply keeps your boat light while maintaining the spirit of expedition. With very few fishing villages along the way, this route offers a rare opportunity to immerse yourself in the solitude and natural beauty of Baja’s coastline, without roads, crowds, or distractions.
Whether you're drawn by the wildlife, the wild landscapes, or the challenge of a true expedition, this is a journey that connects you deeply to the rhythms of the sea and the simplicity of life on the water. The Loreto-La Paz expedition is an opportunity to regain a sense of adventure and experience an expedition like no other.

What makes the coastline between Loreto and La Paz unique?
The coastline between Loreto and La Paz is a stretch of over 160 km of remote beaches, hidden bays, and corners that can only be accessed by sea. This makes this coastline one of the most bio diverse and healthiest in the region.
Throughout the entire coastline, on one side we have the presence of the Sierra la Giganta, which accompanies us with its cliffs, serving as a refuge for hundreds of birds, reptiles, and mammals. On the other side, the Gulf of California reveals its reefs, where thousands of fish take shelter from the open sea.
The small villages along this route add a cultural element to the region with the fishing culture characteristic of the area and its culinary preparations using fresh ingredients from the sea in which they live.
This pristine and untamed coastline is a bastion of the region's biodiversity.
What kind of fauna might we observe?
You will be able to observe a wide variety of wildlife, such as: California sea lions, tropical fish, endemic ring-tailed cat (Babisuri), whales (seasonal), dolphins, manta rays, pelicans, blue-footed boobies, ospreys, frigate birds, herons, and egrets.
