Description
Arizona Snowbowl Lift Tickets – Ski & Snowboard Flagstaff, AZ
Arizona Snowbowl is Arizona's premier ski and snowboard destination, perched on the western slopes of Mount Humphreys — the tallest point in the state — in the San Francisco Peaks north of Flagstaff. At a base elevation of 9,200 feet (2,804 m) and lift-served terrain reaching 11,500 feet (3,505 m), Snowbowl delivers a genuine high-altitude mountain experience in an unlikely desert state.
The mountain spans 777 skiable acres across 61 named runs — from wide, groomed beginner slopes and terrain-based learning areas to steep expert chutes and gladed tree skiing accessed via Arizona's only gondola. With an average of 260 inches (660 cm) of natural snowfall per season and a $1.5 million snowmaking investment completed for the 2025/26 season, the resort routinely opens in mid-November and runs through late April or early May. The 2024/25 season set a resort record at 185 days open.
Lift tickets are priced on a demand-based model, meaning early advance purchases yield the deepest savings. Buy early and ski for as little as $10 — the lowest price point in the resort's 87-year history — or hold off and pay more closer to your visit date, particularly around holidays and peak powder days. Tickets purchased in advance (excluding holidays) also come with $10 in Bowl Bucks, a resort credit redeemable at Snowbowl-owned restaurants, shops, and ski school.
Snowbowl is a great option for the whole family. Kids 12 and under ski and ride FREE all season with the Power Kids Pass — no blackout dates, no parent purchase required. Seniors 75 and older also ski free with the Super Senior Pass. Special Family Friday pricing runs 2–5 PM with $20 afternoon tickets for beginner terrain, free Tips & Tricks lessons, and extended beginner lift hours until 5 PM.
The mountain features 8 lifts, including one high-speed gondola (Arizona Gondola), one high-speed six-person chairlift, four fixed-grip chairlifts, and two surface conveyors — serving something for every ability level. Three terrain parks provide progressive freestyle options from entry-level to advanced features. There is also a sidecountry zone for experienced skiers and riders, and a designated uphill access route for those who prefer to earn their turns.
Duration
Lifts typically operate 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM daily. Allow extra time at the start of your day to pick up your Snowbowl RFID card and get settled.

FAQs
How does demand-based pricing work?
Ticket prices change based on demand to help manage crowd levels and ensure a better on-mountain experience. The earlier you buy, the lower the price. During peak times — snowstorms, holidays, and high-demand days — prices can increase rapidly. Avoid peak periods and purchase well in advance for the best deal. Once purchased, tickets can be exchanged for a resort credit up to 11:59 PM the night before your visit date.
Do I need to book my lift tickets in advance?
Advance purchase is strongly recommended and will save you money. Prices are lowest when purchased early and increase as the date approaches. Walk-up pricing on the day of your visit — especially during holidays or after a big storm — can be significantly higher. Buying online also saves time at the ticket window.
Can I change my ticket date if my plans change?
Yes. You can exchange your lift ticket for a resort credit (equal to your original purchase price) at any time up until 11:59 PM the night before your visit. There are no fees to change. If your new ticket costs more, you'll pay the difference. Ticket purchases are non-refundable after the 48-hour cancellation window immediately following purchase.
Are kids really free?
Yes! Kids 12 and under ski and ride FREE all season long at Snowbowl (and 11 other Power Pass mountains) with the FREE Power Kids Pass. No parent purchase is required, and there are no blackout dates. Visit snowbowl.ski to register your child.
Is there a discount for seniors?
Yes. Skiers and riders age 75 and older can ski free with the Super Senior Pass.
What is Family Friday?
On Fridays from 2–5 PM, beginner terrain lift tickets are available for $20, with free Tips & Tricks beginner lessons and extended beginner lift hours until 5 PM. A great option for families learning to ski or snowboard.
Is parking free at Arizona Snowbowl?
Yes, parking in all resort lots (Lots 1–8) is free. Parking is NOT permitted along Snowbowl Road. On busy days and during holidays, lots can fill up — arrive early or use the free Mountain Express Shuttle from Flagstaff.
Is there a free shuttle from Flagstaff?
Yes. The Mountain Express Shuttle provides free service between Downtown Flagstaff (Mountain Line Downtown Connection Center) and Hart Prairie Lodge, with a free Park-n-Ride stop at Flagstaff High School. The shuttle runs every 20 minutes, 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM, on scheduled days (typically daily during holiday weeks and weekends January through March). Check the current schedule at snowbowl.ski before your visit.
Which lot should I park in?
If you're a first-timer, taking lessons, renting equipment, or skiing with young children, park in the Hart Prairie Base Area (Lots 1–4). Intermediate and advanced skiers who want to head straight to the gondola and expert terrain should use the Agassiz Base Area (Lots 5–8).
What terrain is available and how is it rated?
Arizona Snowbowl has 61 runs across 777 acres, served by 8 lifts. Trail difficulty ratings are relative to Snowbowl — a green circle here may be different from a green circle at other resorts. Start on easier terrain and work your way up. Three terrain parks serve progressively advanced freestyle skiers and riders. There is also a sidecountry zone accessed via hike-to terrain for experienced backcountry-minded guests.
Are there beginner-specific areas?
Yes. The Hart Prairie base area features the largest beginner terrain in the Southwest, including two surface conveyor lifts (Big and Little Spruce) ideal for absolute beginners. Recent snowmaking investments have expanded and extended access to beginner and intermediate terrain near the Humphreys Chairlift.
Are there terrain parks?
Yes — Snowbowl has three terrain parks with features rated small, medium, and large. Per the ParkSmart program, know your ability level and don't take on features beyond your skill. Read all posted signage before entering.
What is the gondola and who can ride it?
The Arizona Gondola is the only gondola in Arizona and provides access to expert and intermediate terrain from the Agassiz Base Area. It offers some of the most dramatic views on the mountain, including distant views of the Grand Canyon on clear days. All guests must have a valid lift ticket to ride.
What is the elevation, and will I feel the altitude?
The base is at 9,200 feet (2,804 m) and lift-served terrain tops out at 11,500 feet (3,505 m). Altitude affects everyone differently. Drink plenty of water (non-alcoholic), go easy on day one if you're coming from lower elevation, and take breaks as needed. UV exposure is also significantly stronger at elevation — wear sunscreen and eye protection.
Are helmets required?
Helmets are not required by policy, but are strongly recommended for all skiers and riders. Helmets are available for purchase and rental at Hart Prairie Lodge.
Can I use my phone or earbuds on the mountain?
The resort discourages use of electronic devices, cell phones, music players, and earphones while skiing/riding or loading/unloading lifts, for safety reasons.
Cancellation Policy
Purchases may be refunded within 48 hours of the time of purchase, provided your visit date has not yet arrived. After that window, tickets can be exchanged for a resort credit but are non-refundable. Credits must be used by April 30 of that season. No refunds or credits are issued due to weather, road conditions, or lift closures.
