La Ventana’s legendary steady winds, warm waters, and beautiful bay make it one of the best places on the planet to learn or refine wingfoiling. Whether you’re a total beginner eager to get your first taste of foiling, an intermediate rider ready to boost your confidence, or an advanced foiler chasing freestyle tricks, our lessons are designed to meet you where you are and help you progress safely and quickly.
Using premium gear from Reedin and Go Foil, our instructors tailor every session to your unique skill level and goals. We often run downwind lessons to maximize your time on the foil and help you progress faster. When doing downwinders, we provide shuttle service to bring you back to the starting point, so you can focus fully on riding without worrying about the return trip. Plus, with real-time coaching through BB talking radios, you’ll get instant feedback to accelerate your learning curve.
All equipment is included, from boards and wings to wetsuits if needed, so you only need to bring your enthusiasm and a desire to get out on the water. After your lesson, rental gear is available if you want to keep riding and practicing on your own.
Duration
Lessons are offered in 2-hour blocks with start times at 10:00 AM, 12:00 PM, and 2:00 PM daily. You can book single sessions or packages to fit your learning pace and schedule.

Location
Our lessons are mobile, meeting you at prime wingfoiling spots in La Ventana based on the best conditions of the day and your preferences. We'll be in touch to coordinate a location.

- Minimum age for children is 6 years old
- Beginner lessons are offered private or semi-private
- Intermediate and advanced lessons are offered as group sessions of up to 4 people
- Students should be comfortable in the water and able to swim

Do I need previous experience to take wingfoil lessons?
No prior experience is required. We offer lessons for all levels — beginner, intermediate, advanced, and freestyle. Beginners receive private or semi-private lessons, while intermediate and advanced students can join group lessons of up to 4 people.
Where do wingfoil lessons usually take place?
Lessons typically take place at the best local launch spots around La Ventana, chosen daily based on wind and water conditions to maximize your learning experience. Common spots include Playa Central and other nearby beaches with ideal wind and water for foiling.
Do you stay at one beach or move around during lessons?
We’re a mobile wingfoil school, so while many lessons start at a primary beach like Playa Central, we often move to different locations or run downwinders to help you make the most of your time on the water and progress faster.
Do you provide transportation to and from lesson start locations?
Transportation to the lesson meeting or launch location is not provided. However, during downwinder lessons, we offer a shuttle service to bring you back to the starting point so you can focus on riding without worrying about the return trip.
What is the instructor-to-student ratio for lessons?
Our lessons maintain a low instructor-to-student ratio of 1:1 or 1:2 to ensure personalized attention and effective coaching.
What is your policy on weather-related cancellations?
If conditions are unsafe or unsuitable for teaching, we will either reschedule your lesson to the next available windy day or provide a full refund if rescheduling isn’t possible.
How many students are in a typical group lesson?
For beginner lessons, we offer private or semi-private sessions to provide focused instruction. Intermediate and advanced lessons are conducted in group settings with up to 4 participants to foster a dynamic learning environment while still allowing individual guidance.
Are there any wildlife considerations?
Occasional encounters with marine life such as jellyfish, stingrays, or sea urchins can occur, but they are rare. We take precautions to minimize risks and ensure your safety.
Can I bring my dog to the lesson?
Dogs are welcome on the beach during lessons. La Ventana is a very dog-friendly community.
