Description

Kitefoil Lessons in Texas City, Texas

Kitefoiling is the ultimate way to take advantage of lighter winds - and it is one of the most popular disciplines at Houston Kiteboarding, especially during the summer months on the Texas City Levee. If you have been thinking about getting into foiling or just want to give it a try, this 2-hour lesson puts you on top-of-the-line kitefoil equipment with an experienced instructor and full jetski support.

The session is designed for kiteboaders who are already comfortable riding upwind and are ready to take their riding to the next level by getting up off the water. Houston Kiteboarding provides all foil equipment - board, foil, hardware - and many clients bring their own kite and harness. Your instructor will work with you on foil body position, kite control at low speeds, and getting comfortable flying above the water.

FAQs

Do I need to know how to kiteboard first?

Yes. Kitefoiling builds on kiteboarding skills. You should be comfortable riding upwind on a twin tip before booking a kitefoil lesson. If you are new to kiteboarding, start with a semi-private or private kiteboarding lesson first.

Can I use my own kite and harness?

Yes. Many clients bring their own kite and harness. All foil equipment is provided by Houston Kiteboarding.

Why is kitefoiling popular in Houston in summer?

Kitefoiling is ideal for lighter wind conditions, which are common in Houston during the summer months. A hydrofoil generates lift at lower speeds than a standard board, making it the best way to keep riding when the wind drops.

What is included?

All kitefoil equipment is provided. Jetski support is included throughout. Your own kite and harness are welcome.
