The official windy season in Puerto Rico is from mid-November until the end of August. We are conveniently located to get the best of the winds all season long. Winds range from 16-25 knots 20+ days a month.

San Juan offers a variety of amazing spots for kiteboarding, winging, and foiling, with conditions perfect for all skill levels:

• Isla Verde Beach: A favorite among locals and visitors, Isla Verde is great for kiteboarding with its consistent wind and wide-open space. It’s a prime spot for intermediate to advanced riders. Wingfoiling is also popular here, especially on days when the wind picks up, making it a great spot for those looking to practice and progress.
• Piñones Lagoon: A calm, protected lagoon located just east of Old San Juan, Piñones offers a perfect place for beginners and those looking to practice their skills. The flat water conditions make it ideal for winging and foiling, providing a safe and comfortable environment to learn or refine your techniques.
• Condado Beach: Condado Beach is a more bustling area but offers steady winds and beautiful scenery. It’s a great location for kiteboarding, with easy access from the shoreline. It’s not as sheltered as other spots, so it’s more suited for intermediate to advanced riders.
• La Boca, San Juan: La Boca is an incredible spot for kiteboarding and foiling, with clear water and consistent winds. This spot is typically less crowded, making it perfect for those seeking some peace while practicing their sport. It’s a great place for both kite and wing foiling enthusiasts looking for a challenge.

• Check the Wind Forecast: San Juan is known for consistent trade winds, but it’s always a good idea to check the wind forecast before heading out. Wind speeds can vary depending on the time of day, location, and the season. The best wind conditions for kiteboarding, winging, and foiling are typically between 12 to 25 knots.
• Time of Day: The best time for these activities is usually in the morning or late afternoon when the winds are steadier and the weather is more predictable. In the middle of the day, winds can pick up too much, especially for beginners, so it’s best to avoid the peak afternoon winds if you’re new to the sport.
• Respect the Local Rules and Regulations: Different beaches and locations may have specific rules, so make sure to check for any restrictions on the area where you plan to ride. For instance, certain beaches may have designated zones for kiteboarding, while others may limit access during specific times of day.
