Description

Paddle Through the Tongass National Forest by Kayak

Join us for a guided sea kayaking adventure in one of the most breathtaking wilderness settings in Alaska. Your excursion begins with a van ride to the north end of Ketchikan, arriving at beautiful Clover Pass on the edge of the Tongass National Forest — the largest national forest in the United States.

At our waterfront facility, your guide will introduce you to your tandem kayak and walk you through a safety briefing before you set out on the water. You'll quickly gain confidence as you paddle toward Eagle Island through the calm, protected waters of Clover Pass. Along the way, your guide will share the natural and cultural history of the area while you keep a keen eye out for bald eagles and their nests, harbor seals, jumping salmon, and — when the tide is right — sea stars clinging to the rocks below.

No prior kayaking experience is necessary. Double kayaks make this an accessible and enjoyable adventure for nearly all fitness levels.

Keep an eye out for bald eagles and their nests, harbor seals, jumping salmon, and sea stars. The protected waters of Clover Pass sit within the Tongass National Forest, offering exceptional wildlife viewing opportunities throughout the paddle.

How long will we be on the water?

You'll spend approximately 2 hours kayaking. The total excursion — including the van ride to Clover Pass and your on-water orientation — is 3 hours 30 minutes from start to finish.
