Our mission is to create a fun and most importantly safe experience for all! Our team will provide basic paddling instruction, technique, and rules of the waterway before you depart.
Harness Creek is a peaceful tributary of the South River offers a mellow, no-wake zone that's perfect for all skill levels - from first-time paddlers to experienced explorers. Glide past wooded shorelines, watch herons fish along the banks, and enjoy a front-row seat to some of the most beautiful private docks and waterfront architecture in the region. It’s a mix of nature and luxury, all from the seat of your boat.

Can I bring my pet?
Yes! Dogs are welcome, though pet life-jacket rentals are limited, so consider bringing your own.
Is experience needed?
Not at all. Mini lessons are available for additional cost if needed.
Is two hours the max rental time?
Yes, to protect recreationist's safety 2 hours is the limit.
Where can I store my belongings?
There are unlocked cubbies onsite, or you may leave valuables in your locked car.
Where is the rental shop?
Please follow the signs throughout the park and you can park in the Blue Heron Parking lot and follow the Harness Creek Trail down to the shop. You will see a bulletin at the trailhead.

Cancellation Policy
There will be NO REFUNDS, only credit for future use
If a customer "No Shows" without contacting management within 2 HOURS prior to scheduled activity there will be NO ISSUED CREDIT.
At Capital SUP safety comes first! We do not allow paddlers to enter the water when there are signs of lightning, thunder, or high winds. Any bookings that are canceled by Capital SUP due to weather, will be credited for future service. This rain check is redeemable all season long and is transferable to others.
Management actively monitors the weather and if the radar suggests heavy rains or storms we will let you know if we have to cancel activities due to unsafe conditions. We still allow paddling in light rain!
