Single Kayak Rental at Inlet Bay Marina - Horsetooth Reservoir, Fort Collins
This sit-on-top kayak is a simple way to get out on Horsetooth Reservoir, a large body of water tucked into the foothills west of Fort Collins. Push off from the marina's cove and paddle at your own pace, with the rocky shoreline and the foothills rising up around you.
Horsetooth is a bigger, busier reservoir than a small mountain lake — boaters, water-skiers, and anglers share the water too — so most paddlers stick closer to the marina's cove and shoreline rather than crossing open water. It's still an easy way to spend an hour on the water with the foothills in view the whole time.
Duration
Rentals are generally available seasonally, starting in May, weather permitting.

Location / Where to Meet
- Meet your rental team at the marina, 4314 Shoreline Drive, Fort Collins, CO 80526
- A Larimer County day-use entrance permit is required per vehicle to access Horsetooth Reservoir, separate from your rental
- Kayaks are hand-launched and exempt from the reservoir's mandatory boat inspection
- Arrive 15–20 minutes early to check in and get set up

- Capacity: 1 person, up to 230 lbs (104 kg) including gear
- Life jackets must be worn by children under 13 and carried for every rider
- A valid photo ID and credit card are required at pickup for the refundable damage deposit
