Beginner Snowshoe Adventure - Tahoe
On this beginner snowshoe adventure, we will be hiking with snowshoes, immersing ourselves in the forest on a homemade secluded winter trail. This activity is perfect for those wanting to explore outside this winter but not wanting to commit to a big hike.
Tour Details
To start, we gather our equipment, have a brief introduction, then hit the trail. We will spend the first half of our experience hiking up 200-500’ (depending on the group) in elevation at a relaxed and enjoyable pace. Up the mountain, we go through uninterrupted Tahoe National Forest. Guiding through the alpine scenery your guides will be sharing stories of the area, history, as well as local flora and fauna. Roughly halfway, we find peaceful open meadows covered in snow. We meander down the hill enjoying mountain vistas of the surrounding area and ski resorts of Palisades Tahoe.
This hike is a perfect outing into the Sierra Nevada mountains. We return back to our vehicles finishing a loop trail. Due to the seclusion, seeing another person is highly unlikely. So step off the beaten path and allow us to show you a true mountain outing you won’t surely forget.
Snowshoe tours are dog friendly! Just notify us if you plan to bring your dog.

You must meet us at the appropriate meeting location described in your confirmation email. For some groups who wish to customize their experience, we may be able to arrange a custom pick-up and drop-off at your location for an extra charge. We always recommend that all our guests visiting Lake Tahoe bring or rent a vehicle that has All Wheel Drive, 4-wheel drive, snow chains, or appropriate snow tires for winter travel. There are so many wonderful things to do in Lake Tahoe that require reliable transportation, especially during winter months.

What to Wear
For snowshoeing in Lake Tahoe California we have a pack list for you to review for each of our different trips. They can be found in your confirmation email after booking. The weather changes dramatically throughout the season and can be significantly colder during snowstorms. We encourage our guests to always be prepared with correct layering. We recommend on all our hikes foot wear with high ankles and insulation like snow boots or hiking boots with warm socks. Outer layers are all dependent on weather conditions. Refer to weather reports and our trip planning PDF for appropriate planning.
