Description
Guided Light Hike in Rocky Mountain National Park
Big views don't have to mean big miles. This relaxed nature walk winds through some of Rocky Mountain National Park's most scenic terrain at an easy, unhurried pace, giving you time to soak in the mountain air, spot wildlife, and take in the surrounding peaks.
Your guide leads the way, weaving in stories about the park's natural and human history as you go — from the geology beneath your feet to the animals that call these mountains home. Keep an eye out along the trail: guests on these guided RMNP hikes have spotted elk, moose, marmots, chipmunks, and a variety of birds.
With morning and afternoon start times to choose from, this walk fits easily into a day in Estes Park, leaving plenty of time afterward to explore town, grab lunch, or head back into the park on your own.

FAQs
What are the benefits of a guided hike in the park?
Guided hikes take the guesswork out of planning a visit to Rocky Mountain National Park. Your CPR/First Aid-certified guide handles park permits, timed-entry reservations, trail selection, and safety, so you can simply enjoy the scenery. Guides also share local knowledge of the park's wildlife, geology, and history along the way, and hikes are kept to small group sizes so the pace and focus can be tailored to your group.
Do I need to make my own Rocky Mountain National Park reservations?
No. Park entrance fees and timed-entry reservations are handled for you as part of the tour package.
I have a Rocky Mountain National Park pass. Should I bring it?
Yes. If you hold an annual, senior, or lifetime park pass, bring it along — your guide will use it when possible to help support the National Park Service.
Will there be snow on the trails?
Snow is possible on higher-elevation trails until early June. If you're hiking in winter or spring, plan to bring traction devices if you have them, along with a bag to carry out muddy or snowy boots afterward.
Do hikes still run in the rain?
Yes — hikes run rain or shine, and your guide will choose the best trail for the day's conditions. In rare cases of dangerous weather, a hike may be canceled for safety, and you'll be notified and offered the option to reschedule.
How long is the Hiking Light walk, and how far do we go?
This nature walk covers 1 to 1.5 miles (1.6 to 2.4 km) of trail over about 1 to 2 hours, depending on pace and stops for stories along the way.
Is this hike suitable for beginners?
Yes. Hiking Light is designed as a shorter, more relaxed walk that's appropriate for all skill levels — a great option if you want the scenery of the park without a long trek.
Is there a minimum number of guests for this tour to run?
Yes, a 2-person minimum is required for this group tour to run.
