Description

High Adventure Slot Canyon Tour – Zion Area

Southern Utah's slot canyons have drawn serious adventurers for decades—and for good reason. They're challenging, demanding, and deeply rewarding in a way that's hard to find anywhere else. The High Adventure Slot Canyon Tour is built for people who want to earn it: a full-day guided expedition into technical canyon terrain that includes steep rappels, strenuous hiking, and potentially flowing water in a raw desert backcountry setting.

This isn't the tour for easing in. It's for confident outdoorspeople who are self-sufficient in extended backcountry environments, comfortable with rope handling and technical terrain, and ready to push themselves through a physically demanding day. Your guide selects the canyon based on conditions and group capability—High Adventure destinations all contain water at certain times of year and feature steep rappels that make them serious desert expeditions. The athletic and motivated will find the day demanding and immensely satisfying. Most groups return with the particular kind of tired that comes from doing something genuinely hard.

Prior rappelling and rope handling experience is strongly recommended. If you don't have it but are confident you can acquire technical skills quickly under guidance, you may be a good fit. This is not an introduction to canyoneering—it's a day for those who are ready to treat the canyon as a real expedition.

FAQs

How strenuous is the High Adventure Canyoneering Tour?

Very strenuous. This tour includes steep rappels, significant hiking, and the potential for cold water travel in a technical canyon environment. Guests should be prepared to carry a pack for a full day and to be active for 8–10 hours. This is one of the most physically demanding single-day offerings in the area.

Do I need prior experience?

Prior rappelling and rope handling experience is strongly recommended. This is not designed as an introductory trip. If you're an experienced outdoorsperson who is new to canyoneering but confident in your ability to pick up technical skills quickly, you may be a good fit.

What differentiates this from other full day canyoneering tours?

The High Adventure Tour goes to more technical and demanding canyon terrain—steeper rappels, more water, more strenuous hiking, and a higher expectation of participant fitness and capability. Other full day tours are more accessible to first-timers and are tailored to your group's comfort level. The High Adventure Tour is for those who want to be genuinely challenged.

Will we be in cold water?

Yes, potentially. High Adventure destinations include canyons that contain water, sometimes flowing, depending on the time of year. Cold water protection is provided based on the season.

Is this tour private?

Yes. All High Adventure tours are private — your group only.

Cancellation Policy
