Description

Half-Day Napa Valley E-Bike Tour from Yountville

Napa Valley is best explored at 12 miles per hour — fast enough to cover real ground, slow enough to take everything in. The Half-Day E-Bike Tour from Napa Valley Bike Tours puts you on a high-quality pedal-assist electric bike alongside a knowledgeable local guide, riding the valley vineyards on quiet country roads and the car-free Napa Valley Vine Trail before stopping at a carefully selected local winery for a tasting.

The tour covers 10 to 12 miles of mostly flat to gently rolling terrain — gentle enough for any fitness level, and with four levels of e-bike assistance, you control exactly how hard you work. Your guide shares the history of the valley, the story behind the wineries you pass, and the vine-to-bottle process as you ride. Tours depart from the Yountville shop and finish by 1:30pm, leaving your afternoon free for whatever Napa has next.

When the bike tour concludes around 1:30pm, you can choose to keep your E-Bikes and continue riding on your own, or head off to your next adventure.

Duration

4 hours (9:30am to 1:30pm).

Location / Where to Meet

Meet your guide at the Yountville shop location:

6500 Washington Street, Yountville, CA 94599 Open in Google Maps

The shop is set back from the street, tucked between Ranch Market & Bistro Jeanty — look for the blue-and-white striped awning. Open daily 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM (closed Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day).

Drive times to Yountville:

  • From Downtown Napa: 15 minutes
  • From St. Helena: 15 minutes
  • From Sonoma: 30 minutes
  • From San Francisco: 75 minutes (avoid Friday afternoons — Bay Area weekend traffic can add significant time)

  1. Ages 21 and older.
  2. Guests are expected to taste responsibly
  3. No prior e-biking experience required; the route is designed for casual riders of all fitness levels
  4. Must be confident riding a regular bicycle

  • Two winery visits with tastings

What to Bring / Wear

Think "smart active" — like you'd dress for a round of golf. Recommended: warm layers for cool mornings, shorts or capris, slim or tapered-leg pants, flat-soled shoes or securely strapped sandals, and sunglasses. Not recommended: denim (uncomfortable seams), wide-leg pants or maxi dresses (can catch in the chain or spokes), wedge heels, flip flops, or mules. The wineries don't have formal dress codes, but smart-casual attire fits in best. We recommend:
  • Smart casual clothing — slim-fitted pants, flat shoes, comfortable layers
  • Sunscreen, sunglasses, and a water bottle
  • Layers — mornings in Napa can be cool; pack something easy to remove mid-ride
  1. Shorts, capris, or slim/tapered-leg pants — avoid wide-leg trousers, maxi skirts, or denim (heavy seams and loose fabric can catch in spokes or chains)
  2. Flat-soled shoes or securely strapped sandals — no flip flops, wedges, or mules
  3. Credit card or cash for wine tasting fees and any winery purchases
  4. Small bag or daypack for personal items
  5. Camera or phone for photos
  6. Government-issued ID confirming age 21+

FAQs

What is included in the Half-Day E-Bike Tour?

The tour includes your e-bike rental, helmet, guided route with a knowledgeable local Tour Guide, and one winery visit for a tasting. Wine tasting fees are not included in the tour price.

How far do we bike on the half-day tour?

You will ride an average of 3 to 6 miles between stops, covering a total of 10 to 12 miles. The terrain is mostly flat to gently rolling along the Napa Valley Vine Trail and quiet vineyard roads.

Do I need e-biking experience?

No. The flat terrain and e-bike pedal-assist make this accessible to most fitness levels. No e-biking experience required.

Can I buy wine during the tour?

Yes. Your Tour Guide will transport any wine you purchase to the shop, so you do not have to carry bottles while riding.

Why aren't tasting fees included?

Wine tasting fees are not included in the price of the bike tour because the wineries we visit vary daily and also, your fees may be waived when you make a minimum purchase or join a wine club.

What roads will we ride on?

The route uses a mix of quieter country roads and busier roadways, including some stretches along Hwy. 29 and Silverado Trail where a Class II bike lane is present. The group also frequently rides along the Napa Valley Vine Trail, a car-free bike path. Your guide will navigate all road crossings and transitions.
