Gulf Shores Kayak Tour – Explore Little Lagoon at Bon Secour Wildlife Refuge

Discover the beauty of Little Lagoon on this family-friendly kayaking adventure in Gulf Shores! Our 1-hour and 15-minute guided tour is perfect for all ages and skill levels, with calm waters that make it fun and easy to explore. 
Your tour begins with a quick lesson and personal coaching before you launch. Once on the water, your guide will lead you through the lagoon, pointing out highlights and helping you spot the local wildlife. Keep your eyes open for herons, osprey, pelicans, gulls, rays, and schools of fish as you paddle through this peaceful coastal habitat.
Availability is limited, and tours require at least five participants, so book early! Summer tours are best enjoyed in the cool morning hours, with departures at 8 or 9 am to beat the heat. Once you’re done paddling, you can step right out at the water’s edge and continue your day of coastal exploration.
Kids and teens especially love our photo and video package, so you can capture all the fun and share the memories. With tandem kayaks, personalized coaching, and everything you need provided, you’ll be set for an unforgettable time on the water.

Do I need prior kayaking experience?

Nope! Our tours are beginner-friendly and include a mini lesson plus personalized guidance from your in-water guide. As long as you’re comfortable in the water and have basic floating/swimming skills, you’ll be good to go.

What happens if the weather is bad?

All tours are subject to wind, waves, and weather conditions. If dangerous conditions require cancellation, you’ll receive a full refund or the option to reschedule. Please note: tours are not canceled for light rain, and mornings are usually calmest.

Is there a minimum group size?

Yes. A minimum of 5 guests is required for tours to run. Once that minimum is met, smaller groups and individuals are welcome to book the same date. If you’re unsure, you can contact us to check availability.

What wildlife might we see?

Little Lagoon is home to a variety of coastal wildlife. Common sightings include herons, osprey, pelicans, gulls, rays, and plenty of fish. While wildlife encounters can’t be guaranteed, the lagoon is an active habitat with lots to spot.

Can kids join the tour?

Absolutely! Kids ages 6 and up are welcome, and families often find this to be one of the most enjoyable activities in Gulf Shores. Children must ride with an adult in a tandem kayak and should be comfortable in the water.

Cancellation Policy

A credit card is required at time of booking and your card will be charged at that time. You may cancel or change your reservation at any time prior to 48 hours before your tour and you will be given a full refund. In the event of a late arrival, no-show, or last minute cancellation no refunds will be given. No exceptions.

All tours are subject to wind, waves, and weather conditions. In the event of dangerous conditions we may be required cancel tours for your safety. In this case, a full refund or transfer of tour to another date will be given. Please note: Tours will not be cancelled in the event of rain.
