Explore the Tidal Ecosystem of Hilton Head Island by SUP

This “nature walk” on the water is a spectacular way to expand your paddleboard skills while taking in the beauty of the tidal salt marsh. Get up close and personal with the flora and fauna while your ACA-certified / naturalist guide entertains you with fascinating facts and stories of the Lowcountry. Paddle through the calm waters and take in the breathtaking scenery of the island’s salt marshes, tidal creeks, and rivers. Experienced guides will lead you on a journey of discovery as you encounter local wildlife such as dolphins, ospreys, egrets, herons, and more. You’ll learn about the fascinating history and ecology of the area while enjoying a peaceful and relaxing outdoor adventure. This excursion makes for a perfect half-day experience for the animal-loving traveler!

Location

Guests will meet their guide at the central Outside Location at: 50 Shelter Cove Lane
Hilton Head Island, SC 29928. Tours will depart from Shelter Cove or Palmetto Bluff, depending on the season.

FAQs

What time of year is best to visit? Outside offers tours year round, and Hilton Head Island's most charismatic resident, the bottlenose dolphin, can also be sighted throughout the year. 
What wildlife will we see? Bottlenose dolphins, deer, alligators, and a variety of coastal birds all make their home in the canals and salt marshes of the island. 
Where can I leave my belongings? Your valuables can be safely left in your locked car, or you can bring a small dry bag to attach to your board. 
Should I tip my guide? Tips are not required, but always appreciated! If you enjoy your trip, consider a tip.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations & Refunds - We accept cancellations up to 48 hours in advance of the scheduled time of your tour or program.
Any cancellation made after that deadline will result in a charge for the full amount of the reservation.
Weather cancellations are at the sole discretion of Outside. We will only go out as long as it will be safe and enjoyable. If we should need to cancel your activity due to weather, we will do our best to reschedule your activity. If this is not possible, there will be no charge or we will issue a credit for any payments made.
In the circumstance your trip returns early due to weather you will be given the option to reschedule, receive a partial refund towards another experience or a partial credit back to your card.
