Cruise Maui's North Shore Like a Local!
Trade the rental car for an electric bike and discover a quieter side of Maui's North Shore. This guided e-bike adventure follows scenic coastal roads and bike paths through the laid-back town of Pāʻia, giving you the freedom to enjoy the island's incredible scenery without worrying about traffic, parking, or steep climbs. The electric pedal assist does most of the work, allowing you to simply relax and take in the ride.
Over the course of approximately 10–12 miles (16–19 km), you'll visit some of the North Shore's most beautiful beaches, coastal viewpoints, and local hidden gems. Stops include Baldwin Beach Park, one of Maui's longest white sand beaches, and Kanahā Beach Park, where you'll often find windsurfers, kiteboarders, and sea turtles along the shoreline. Your guide will also lead you to lesser-known beaches and scenic overlooks that many visitors drive right past, as well as a local fruit and flower stand where you can browse fresh tropical fruit, locally grown flowers, honey, and other island specialties.
Throughout the ride, your guide shares stories about Maui's history, culture, and North Shore lifestyle, giving you a deeper appreciation for the places you're visiting. The route is mostly flat and designed to be comfortable for riders with basic bicycling experience, making it an enjoyable outing for couples, families, and anyone looking for an active but relaxed way to explore Maui beyond the typical tourist stops.

Check in at our Paia Shop
Start your day in the laid-back North Shore surf town of Paia. Your guide will outfit you with a premium E-bike, helmet, backpack, lock, and gloves, with optional rain and wind gear available if needed. After a brief safety orientation, you’ll set off to explore Maui’s beautiful North Shore.

- Please meet at the Paia bike shop. The shop sits toward the back of the Paia Plaza parking lot, behind the Lima Restaurant (not the Mana Foods lot). There is a paid parking lot ($15, credit card only) directly in front of the shop, plus a free public parking lot on Hana Highway a short walk away.
Ages & Requirements
- Minimum age: 15 years old (per Maui County law).
- Riders under 18 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
- Minimum height: 4'11" (150 cm) to properly fit the bike.
- Maximum rider weight: 280 lbs (127 kg).
- Pregnant riders are not permitted.
- This tour is suitable for most riders with basic bicycle experience. The electric pedal-assist bikes make riding comfortable and enjoyable, while the mostly flat route follows a mix of bike paths and local roads.
- Riders should be comfortable riding a bicycle and sharing the road with light traffic.

FAQs
Do you provide hydration/nutrition?
All our tours start at one of our bike shops – we have additional water and bike snacks available for purchase before heading out to ride.
Your guide will also let you know of opportunities to purchase food & water along your ride. Some routes have more frequent opportunities than others.
Do routes vary?
Typically, no. However, on any given day the route is subject to change based on any of the following factors:
- Rider(s) ability level
- Rider(s) interests
This is not to say that riders dictate where you’ll go; rather, your guide will work with you to facilitate the best possible riding experience for you and your group.
What if it's windy or rainy?
We ride rain or shine! The weather on Maui is notorious for changing in the blink of an eye. If it is possible we may call to re-schedule as long as we have the availability.
If you opt out of the ride due to weather, there is no refund.
If we make the decision to cancel a ride due to weather, we will first look to reschedule for a another day. If you are unable to reschedule, we will refund 100% of the cost.
How many guides will I have?
For 1-8 riders, we provide 1 guide.
Do guided tours have vehicle support?
Our ebike tours DO NOT have vehicle support. Our guides will have basic repair kits and are well-versed in performing basic repairs. We are also never too far from one of our bike shops and can get assistance if needed.
Cancellation Policy
- No Refunds within 48 Hours from the check-in time of the activity a reservation cannot be cancelled, and the full amount of the cost of the tour will be charged.
- Reservations made inside the 48 hours prior to the start of the activity cannot be cancelled, and the full amount will be charged to the credit card account on file, regardless of the client's participation in the activity, or not.
- For Parties of Eight (8) or more the cancellation policy time is 72 hours.
- No Shows will be charged the full amount of the cost of the tour. No exceptions.
Maui Sunriders Bike Co. reserves the right to cancel a tour, without notice, due to Severe weather conditions, lack of participation or mechanical failure. If this occurs, Maui Sunriders will give you an opportunity to re-schedule or a full refund.
Terms & Conditions
Phone and online reservations are our principal booking systems. When upon a reservations a customer submits a credit card account number it is mutually understood and agreed that his/her reservation is confirmed, and at check-in time his/her space will be guaranteed.
- No Beginners (If you haven't been on a bike in over 10 years, we highly suggest you re-consider this bike ride. This isn't a ride to re-familiarize yourself with biking, you should be confident and comfortable riding a bike.
- No Pregnant Women
- No youth under the age of 15 (per Maui County Laws)
- Minors (under 18) must be accompanied by an adult
- Bike Manufacturers weight limit is 280lbs.
Rental Agreement
This is a contract to rent only and not a contract to sell, the undersigned renter agrees that he/she has rented the item(s) herein described upon the express condition that it will at all times remain the property of the rental agent, Maui Sunriders Bike Co., that he/she has examined said item(s) and found it to be in good condition and he/she will return it in as good condition as when he/she received it, ordinary wear and tear excepted; that he/she will return any item(s) not functioning properly to the rental agent at once; that he/she will pay promptly all charges when due which accrue because of this rental, including damages to said item(s). In the event the renter fails to abide by any of the terms of this contract, the rental agent may repossess said item(s) without notice to the renter, and the rental agent is hereby released from any and all claims arising therefrom. All charges are based on the time said item(s) is in the renters possession whether or not in use. The rental agent is not responsible for accident or injury caused directly or indirectly by the use of the aforementioned rented item(s).
