With this Golden Gate Bridge bike rental, you get the bike rental plus the Sausalito ferry return ticket! You will pick up from our Fisherman's Wharf location as early as when we open, and you'll be able to ride across the Golden Gate Bridge into Sausalito. You begin your ride at one of the most iconic landmarks in the world. The bridge spans across the Golden Gate strait, connecting San Francisco to Marin County. As you cycle across, you’re treated to panoramic views of the San Francisco Bay, Alcatraz Island, and the city skyline behind you. Whenever you are ready to return back to San Francisco, please head to the Sausalito Ferry Terminal and take the Blue & Gold Ferry back.

Ferry Ticket Included

The ferry boat ticket is a one-way ticket from Sausalito to San Francisco on the Blue and Gold Ferry. Passengers are allowed to board the ferry with their bike. Unlimited Biking team members will let them know the updated schedule on their arrival, or guests can check for updated schedules on the Blue and Gold ferry website. This ferry ticket is valid for any ferry time.

Pick up and drop off from any Unlimited Biking location! At checkout, be sure to select the Fisherman's Wharf location in the drop-down - this is the closest rental location to the Golden Gate Bridge.

We offer rental options for all ages, including baby and child accessories. If you are 18 or younger, one of your parents or a legal guardian will need to sign the Release from Liability form.

For electric bikes, riders must be ages 13+.

Can I rent a bicycle and keep it longer than one day, or for a whole week?

Yes, we have daily, weekly and even monthly pricing!

Do I need to make a reservation?

In order to assure a bicycle and any additional equipment or bike tour spots are available, it is recommended that you make a reservation at least 48 hours in advance. If your payment is accepted, your bicycle will be guaranteed.

Do you have lockers at the store?

No, we don't.

Can I pick up my bike from one location and return it to another?

Yes, you can return your bike to any Unlimited Biking location!

Do you have restrooms at the store?

No, we don't.

How long does it take to bike the bridge and return by ferry?

The whole trip is about 3-4 hours round-trip. It will take about 20-30 minutes ride to the beginning of the Golden Gate Bridge from our location. It will take another 10-20 minutes to bike cross the Golden Gate Bridge (1.8 miles). Then, it is about 15-20 minutes (2 miles) mostly downhill to Sausalito after the bridge. Ferry ride takes 30 minutes to Fisherman's Wharf, and 20 minutes ride back to our bike rental shop.

Do I have to to take the ferry?

No, you can bike across the bridge and bike back! You can turn around and return by bike. However, a ferry ticket is included in this rental, so it's nice to not have to ride up the hill back from Sausalito to Fisherman's Wharf!

What will the weather be like?

Weather in San Francisco can vary from neighborhood to neighborhood! Weather can be sunny one minute then foggy the next- and it’s almost always sunny and ten degrees warmer in Sausalito! We always recommend layers: dress comfortably enough for your bike ride but also consider the variations in our weather.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations more than 24 hours in advance are eligible for a full refund. For any cancellations within 24 hours of the rental, we provide a full credit in the amount you have paid that will never expire!
