FAQs
Do I need prior paddleboarding or kayaking experience to join the Full Moon Paddle?
Not at all! The Full Moon Paddle is beginner-friendly and designed for all skill levels. Whether you’re new to paddling or experienced on the water, this relaxed community event is all about enjoying the experience at your own pace.
Is the Full Moon Paddle a guided tour?
No, this is not a guided tour. The Full Moon Paddle is a self-guided rental and community event, giving you the freedom to paddle, socialize, and enjoy the themed festivities on your own schedule.
Can I bring my own paddleboard or kayak?
Yes! If you already have your own board, you’re welcome to join the Full Moon Paddle for a small entry fee. Bringing your own board still gives you access to the social event, themed activities, food, drinks, and community atmosphere.
Guests bringing their own board receive LED swag, themed buffet access, live DJ entertainment, social event entry, and complimentary use of a solar lantern.
What makes the Full Moon Paddle different from a regular rental?
The Full Moon Paddle combines self-guided paddling with a lively social atmosphere, including glowing boards, themed parties, live DJs, food, drinks, raffles, and community connection—making it much more than a standard rental.
Do I need to reserve in advance?
Yes, we highly recommend reserving in advance to ensure availability. Event capacity is limited to 100 guests.
Do I need to pay a park entry fee at Georgetown Lake?
No - access to Georgetown Lake for paddleboarding or kayaking from our rental location is free. Simply check in at our shop on the water and start your adventure.
What if the weather is bad?
We totally get that weather can be unpredictable! If the conditions aren’t great, we’re happy to reschedule or hook you up with a raincheck to use anytime. Just a heads-up—park entrance fees might not be refundable, so keep an eye on your email for updates.
What kind of weather would cause a cancellation?
Safety is our top priority! A couple of quick rules: If there’s lightning nearby (or on the way) or if winds hit 15+ MPH, it’s a no-go.
Since Colorado’s weather changes fast, we do 30-minute weather holds and reassess after that. We’ll always keep you in the loop!
