Description
Park After Dark – Full Moon Paddle in Congaree National Park
Experience Congaree National Park in a completely different light — literally. The Full Moon Paddle on Cedar Creek is a magical nighttime kayak experience offered several times a year, timed around the full moon. As darkness falls over the floodplain forest, the ancient Bald Cypress and Tupelo trees take on an otherworldly atmosphere, and the wildlife of the park shifts into its nocturnal rhythm.
Your guides lead the way along Cedar Creek, sharing their deep knowledge of the park's history, ecology, and nighttime wildlife. The moonlight reflecting off the dark, glassy water makes for an unforgettable and serene paddle unlike anything you'll find during the day.
This trip is perfect for adventurous beginners and experienced paddlers alike — Cedar Creek is calm and slow-moving, making it accessible even in low light. If you've already done the daytime Cedar Creek tour, the Full Moon Paddle is a completely different experience and well worth returning for.
