Pigeon Point Whitewater Rafting - Upper Trinity River Class III Full Day

The Pigeon Point section of the Trinity River is one of Northern California’s most iconic Class III runs—eloved for its clear blue waters, gorgeous canyon walls, and playful rapids. This stretch offers the perfect balance of adventure and natural beauty, making it a favorite for both first-timers and returning river lovers alike. With exciting whitewater, hidden swimming holes, and unforgettable scenery, it’s no wonder this is one of the most sought-after rafting trips in the region.
Step off the grid and into the flow of “river time” on this full-day whitewater rafting adventure. With no phones, no distractions, and no rush, you’ll settle into the rhythm of nature while exploring this classic stretch of river. This is a fully immersive experience that’s all about connection—to the river, to your group, and to the wild beauty of the canyon. On this adventure, you'll experience:
  1. Multiple stops at pristine swimming holes
  2. Exhilarating, technical and splashy Class III rapids
  3. A short hike up a beautiful creek canyon to a two-tiered waterfall
  4. Plenty of amazing wildlife viewing opportunities
  5. Two cliff jumping rocks with the option to plunge 10 or 15 feet into the river below
  6. The pure joy of floating through Otter’s Playpen
  7. The adrenaline rush of jumping into the bottom of Hell’s Hole
  8. A delicious organic deli-style lunch with smoked salmon, turkey, farm-fresh veggies, and homemade dessert
Guided by experienced professionals, you’ll paddle through splashy, technical Class III rapids, float through calm pools, and stop at pristine swimming holes. A short hike leads you up a stunning creek canyon to a two-tiered waterfall, and you’ll have chances to cliff jump into deep, clear pools if you're feeling bold. Highlights include the playful Otter’s Playpen and the heart-pumping Hell’s Hole rapid, which you can even swim through if you're up for the thrill. A delicious organic deli-style lunch with smoked salmon, turkey, farm-fresh veggies, and homemade dessert rounds out this unforgettable day on the water

FAQs

Can I bring my camera or other personal belongings on the trip?

The river has a way of taking items from us, so if it’s not tied down or secured, you could lose it. General rule: don’t bring anything you’d hate to lose. Don’t wear expensive jewelry, don’t bring your only pair of prescription glasses, don’t bring electronics, and we don’t recommend bringing your phone. If you’d like to document the trip and have a GoPro, consider using one of our helmets with a GoPro mount. If you really want to bring your phone or camera, we’ll supply you with a dry bag.

Are pets allowed?

All our trips are pet friendly, as long as your doggo is gung ho about it! We recommend no higher than Class III for guests’ pooches.

What is the guide-to-guest ratio?

Our guide-to-guest ratio is typically 1:6.

What is your weather policy?

The only reason a trip would be outright canceled is for wildfires and air quality/safety issues. Rain is normal, and we have all the gear needed to keep people warm and cozy. We have canceled trips due to snow but always check in with guests to see how they’d like to proceed. Some folks are happy rafting in the snow, so it really depends on the guest!

Is there a minimum number of guests?

You’ll need at least two people in your group to book this trip.

Do you offer group discounts?

Group rates do apply: groups of 15+ people get a 10% discount; groups of 25+ get a 15% discount; groups of 35+ get a 20% discount; and groups of 50+ get a 25% discount.

Do you take photos of us?

Professional photography company Serendipity Snapshots, with 20+ years experience will take our pictures when we charge the big one!  Photo package can be purchased in advance online. Photos can also be viewed & purchased in office the day of your trip, from Memorial Day Weekend-Labor Day Weekend.

What safety training do your guides have?

All of the guides at Six Rivers Rafting are thoroughly trained and have a river or swiftwater rescue cert, an advanced first aid cert (usually of the wilderness variety), and a CPR cert. Guides have also completed a guide training/school and have proved proficient on all sections of the river they are taking clients on. The experience level of our guide team ranges from well over 20 years to first-year rock stars. Our guides tend to come back and work for us for many years, providing a wealth of experience and stability to our operation. All of our guides are also knowledgeable when it comes to river ecology and the surrounding wildlife. They passionately share information about local species, landmarks, and conservation issues in a friendly and interesting way.

How do you manage your environmental impact?

We make many efforts to reduce our waste. Food is packaged in reusable containers and served with real plates and silverware. Reusable water bottles allow us to hydrate without creating waste. Leftover food is turned into compost. All other waste is either recycled or reused at the owner’s house. (Plastic Ziploc bags can be cleaned and used over and over!)

What kind of involvement do you have in the local community?

We are locally owned. As an active member in our community, we enjoy donating rafting gift certificates to local charities for their fundraising efforts. We love seeing our gift certificates generate income for the local Creekside Charter School and the Sequoia Park Zoo in Eureka! Plus, we get the added benefit of later enjoying the company of the gift certificate recipients!

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations must be made at least 72 hours in advance of your trip's departure date in order to guarantee a full refund. A cancellation within 72 hours of your trip date may result in a partial refund, depending on if we are able to rebook the seats that we held for you. If we are able to rebook, we happily do not charge. If we are unable to rebook, we unfortunately may have to collect a cancellation fee to cover our loss. If you fail to show up for your trip without contacting us in advance, you will be charged for the full amount. We understand that last-minute things come up, and we are happy to reschedule a trip at no additional cost for anyone charged the full amount for a canceled trip.
