Description

Upper Trinity River Class III Rafting - Full Day

The Pigeon Point section of the Trinity River is the most popular river segment. It’s also one of the best family friendly, beginner-to-intermediate, Class III whitewater trips in California and the western U.S. On this trip, you’ll enjoy a true full-day nature and river immersion experience.
Our guides will give you the VIP treatment and teach you how we play “riverstyle”. We believe the best part of rafting is slowing down and immersing in nature, in between exciting rapids, of course! Speaking of rapids, Serendipity Snapshots will capture your excitement when we charge the big one!
No previous experience necessary. Inflatable kayaks are available for this trip, requested in advance.

Duration of Adventure

6 hours

Location / Where to Meet

You’ll meet us at our location on the Upper Trinity in Junction City, CA  (38400 CA-299), where you can park your vehicle on our private property. You can keep your valuables in your vehicle or cool and extra safe in our air-conditioned office, where we have a flushing toilet and private changing rooms.
After we get you and your group river-ready, you’ll immediately walk the short distance across our property to our own private river access where we do our safety talk in the shade, with the stunning Trinity River in the background. Our launch spot gets us an extra 1.5 miles of scenic river time to ourselves, a section where you might see green herons, giant fish, kingfishers, deer, turtles, osprey, eagles, otters, and even bears.

Ages

The recommended minimum age for this section is 7+.

What to Bring / Wear

  1. River/swimming-appropriate clothing, including a extra layer of polypropylene or wool for warmth on spring days
  2. Sandals that strap onto your feet or tennis shoes with rubber bottoms. No flip flops, please! Flip flops can be dangerous on rafting trips and do not protect your feet.
  3. Sunscreen
  4. Sunglasses, with a strap to secure them
  5. Reusable water bottle. We have a unique no-plastic-on-the-river policy and ask that guests not bring plastic disposable water bottles. If you don’t have a reusable water bottle, we’ll provide one for your use.

FAQs

Can I bring my camera or other personal belongings on the trip?
The river has a way of taking items from us, so if it’s not tied down or secured, you could lose it. General rule: don’t bring anything you’d hate to lose. Don’t wear expensive jewelry, don’t bring your only pair of prescription glasses, don’t bring electronics, and we don’t recommend bringing your phone (it doesn’t work in our area anyways). There is a professional photographer on the run, but if you’d like to document the trip and have a GoPro, you can use one of our helmets with a GoPro mount. If you really want to bring your phone or camera, we’ll supply you with a dry bag.
Is the shuttle back to your car included?
Yes!
Are pets allowed?
All our trips are pet friendly, as long as your doggo is gung ho about it! Our dog has run Class IV rapids frequently, but we recommend no higher than Class III for our guests’ pooches.
What is the guide to guest ratio?
Our guide-to-guest ratio is typically 1:6.
What is your weather policy?
The only reason a trip would be outright canceled is for wildfires and air quality/safety issues. Rain is normal, and we have all the gear needed to keep people warm and cozy. We have canceled trips due to snow but always check in with guests to see how they’d like to proceed. Some folks are happy rafting in the snow, so it really depends on the guest!
Can we book a private trip?
Any of our trips can be private or joined with another group. Popular private trip options include: birthdays, bachelor/bachelorette parties, and large family adventures.
