Description
Daily Red Rocks E-Bike Rental — Explore Bear Creek Lake Park & the Red Rocks Foothills
The foothills outside Morrison are some of the most dramatic riding terrain within easy reach of Denver — red canyon walls, cottonwood-lined creek paths, sweeping views of the Front Range, and some of Colorado's most famous landmarks just miles from the shop. A daily rental gives you the whole day to explore them on your own terms.
The shop sits at the gateway to Bear Creek Lake Park — 2,624 acres of paved and unpaved trails, a reservoir, beaches, and wildlife habitat that most Denver visitors never discover. Follow the creek paths west and you're in the foothills canyon; follow them through the park and you're at the base of Morrison's Main Street, with Red Rocks Park just up the road. The e-bike's pedal-assist makes the climbs in this terrain genuinely enjoyable rather than punishing — and at 5,700 feet (1,737 m), that assistance matters.

FAQs
Where can I ride on a daily rental from the shop
The shop has direct trail access into Bear Creek Lake Park — one of Metro Denver's best-kept outdoor secrets. The paved and natural-surface trails through the park wind along Bear Creek, passing wildlife habitat, the park's reservoir and beach areas, and connecting to Morrison's historic Main Street at the base of the canyon. Riders can extend further west into Bear Creek Canyon, or follow the park roads south and east through the park's full 2,624 acres (1,062 hectares). For the ambitious, the roads into Red Rocks Park are accessible from the rental — the same route the guided tour covers — though the climbing is significant. Staff will recommend a route matched to your fitness and interests.
Can I ride to Red Rocks Amphitheatre with a full day e bike rental?
Yes — Red Rocks Park is accessible on a daily rental. The climb from the shop into the park is the same route covered on the guided tour and involves meaningful elevation gain. The e-bike makes it manageable, but it's a genuine climb at altitude. Staff will advise on the route and what to expect before you head out.
Can I ride to Dinosaur Ridge?
Yes — Dinosaur Ridge is accessible from the shop via the same route as the guided tour. If you'd like an expert-guided experience with stops and interpretation at both Red Rocks and Dinosaur Ridge, consider booking the guided tour instead.
What is the terrain like around the shop?
The immediate area around the shop is relatively flat, with the Bear Creek trail system offering a gentle introduction. The routes into Morrison and through Bear Creek Lake Park are a mix of paved paths and natural surfaces. The climb toward Red Rocks and Dinosaur Ridge involves significant elevation gain. Staff will match their route recommendation to your fitness level and what you're looking for from the day.
Is the altitude a concern?
The shop sits at approximately 5,700 feet (1,737 m) above sea level — noticeably higher than Denver. If you're coming from sea level, staying hydrated and pacing yourself on the climbs is important. The e-bike assists significantly, but altitude affects everyone differently. If you're arriving from a lower elevation, consider giving yourself a day to acclimate before tackling the bigger climbs.
What is a Pedego electric bike and how does it work?
Pedego electric bikes use a pedal-assist system — as you pedal, the motor kicks in to amplify your effort. You can dial the assist level up or down depending on how much of a workout you want. Most Pedego models also have a throttle, which propels the bike forward without pedaling. The motor doesn't do all the work; you still pedal, but hills that would stop a regular bike in its tracks become manageable. At altitude in Colorado's Front Range foothills, that assistance is more than welcome.
How far can I go on a single charge?
Most Pedego bikes are rated for 20–60 miles (32–97 km) per charge. The Red Rocks and Dinosaur Ridge tour covers approximately 16 miles (26 km) — well within range. For daily rentals, the Bear Creek Lake Park trail system is also comfortably within battery range for a full day of riding.
Do I need experience riding a bicycle to use an e-bike?
You should be comfortable riding a standard bicycle. The pedal-assist adds speed and power, making basic bike-handling skills important. Staff will walk you through the controls before you head out. For the guided tour, you must be able to safely ride a bike upon arrival — those deemed unsafe to ride will not be able to participate.
Are helmets required?
Yes — helmets are included with every rental and tour and are required for all riders.
Do I need to be a strong cyclist?
The e-bike takes the edge off the elevation — riders of all fitness levels have completed the tour and rental routes here. That said, the terrain around Morrison involves real hills and the altitude (around 5,700–6,450 ft / 1,737–1,966 m) adds some challenge. At least a moderate level of physical fitness is recommended.
What is the weather policy?
Colorado's Front Range weather can change quickly, especially in spring and fall. Tours and rentals generally go forward in light weather; severe weather, lightning, and dangerous conditions may result in rescheduling. Contact the shop directly if conditions look concerning on your day.
Is parking available at the shop?
Yes — free parking is available in front of the shop at 4285 S Eldridge St. Take the Quincy exit from C-470; the store is to the right of Home Depot.
Do I need to book in advance?
Yes — booking in advance is strongly recommended for both tours and rentals. The Red Rocks and Dinosaur Ridge tour is a private experience with limited availability; popular dates fill up quickly. Book as early as possible, especially during peak season (May through October).
What time does the shop open and close?
The daily rental window is 10:00 AM–5:00 PM. Confirm full shop hours in FareHarbor.
