San Francisco Bike Rentals

Bike across the Golden Gate Bridge into Sausalito, a beautiful waterfront town, and ferry back to San Francisco Fisherman's Wharf! One of the world's most famous bike rides! (8-mile one-way)

You will start from our bike rental shop located in the beautiful Marina District, only a short ride to the Golden Gate Bridge via a scenic waterfront bike route. Enjoy the breathtaking views of the San Francisco Bay at Fort Point, and bike across the famous Golden Gate Bridge. You can simply bike the bridge and return to our bike rental shop, or continue down to Sausalito for lunch and shopping. Hop-on a ferry in Sausalito with your bike and get back to San Francisco with scenic bay views!

Pick up your bike as early as 9:15 AM! You can select your pickup time at checkout. Bikes must be returned by closing (5 pm), unless you upgrade to a 24-hour rental.

This adventure is appropriate for all ages! Children riding in a child seat must be a minimum of 1 year old. Child seats have a maximum weight of 40 lbs, and tag-a-longs have a maximum weight of 45 lbs.

FAQs

How long does it take to bike the bridge and return by ferry?

About 3-4 hours round-trip. It will take about 20-30 minutes ride to the beginning of the Golden Gate Bridge from our location. It will take another 10-20 minutes to bike cross the Golden Gate Bridge (1.8 miles). Then, it is about 15-20 minutes (2 miles) mostly downhill to Sausalito after the bridge. Ferry ride takes 30 minutes to Fisherman's Wharf, and 20 minutes ride back to our bike rental shop.

Do I have to to take the ferry?

No, you can bike across the bridge and bike back! You can turn around and return by bike.

How do I return from Sausalito?

Ride the bike back
Buy a ferry ticket in Sausalito ($14.75) and take the ferry back to Fisherman's Wharf, then return to our bike rental shop.
Take a taxi back (most taxis in Sausalito have bicycle rack).
Take a ride share (XL Uber) with the bikes.

Where do I store the bikes if keeping them overnight?

Do not lock bikes up outside, as they are very likely to get stolen. Bikes kept overnight should be stored indoors-most hotels do offer complimentary bike storage. Check with your concierge!

What will the weather be like?

Weather in San Francisco can vary from neighborhood to neighborhood! Weather can be sunny one minute then foggy the next- and it’s almost always sunny and ten degrees warmer in Sausalito! We always recommend layers: dress comfortably enough for your bike ride but also consider the variations in our weather.

Cancellation Policy

Customers will receive a full refund with 24 hours notice of cancellation. No refunds for cancellations made within 24 hours of your rental date. No refunds or cancellations for same-day reservations. No-shows will be charged the full price. If a reservation is rebooked to a different date, it will no longer qualify for cancellation and it's considered non-refundable.
