Description
Your E-Bike, Your Route & a Full Day to Explore West Maui!
Grab an e-bike for the day and turn West Maui into your own self-guided adventure. With no tour route or group schedule to follow, you're free to build the day around whatever sounds good—coastal scenery, beaches, viewpoints, food stops, or simply putting some miles behind you. Electric pedal assist helps make the hills more manageable, giving you the freedom to cover more ground without making the entire day about the workout.
Choose from several styles of e-bike and get matched with a bike suited to your size and riding plans. Before setting off, you'll receive an orientation covering the bike's controls, gears, and pedal assist, plus custom route-planning help if you'd like recommendations. Head north through Kāʻanapali toward Kapalua, explore the hills above the coast, or build a route combining several West Maui stops throughout the day.
The biggest advantage of a full-day rental is having time to actually enjoy where you're going. Lock up your e-bike and walk a coastal trail, stop for lunch, spend some time at a beach, take photos, or change plans halfway through when something interesting catches your eye. Whether you want one big ride or a laid-back day of short rides and long stops, the bike is yours for the day and the itinerary is yours to create.

FAQs
Where can I take my e-bike, and how far can I go?
A full-day rental gives you the most flexibility to explore West Maui at your own pace, as long as you follow local bicycle rules and posted access restrictions. Your practical range depends on the specific e-bike, terrain, rider weight, pedal-assist level, and how much you pedal. Before you leave, the team can help you plan a route that fits your bike's expected range and gets you comfortably back to the shop on time.
Is a full-day rental good for first-time e-bike riders?
Yes. You don't need previous e-bike experience, but you should already be comfortable riding and controlling a regular bicycle. You'll receive an orientation covering the controls, gears, and pedal assist before setting off, and an evaluation test ride can help make sure you're comfortable. If you're unsure about spending an entire day on the bike, the shorter rental options may be a better introduction.
What happens if I'm running late and need the e-bike longer?
Your e-bike needs to be returned by the end of your scheduled rental period. If it looks like you won't make it back on time, contact the shop as soon as possible. Late returns are charged in additional hourly increments, subject to the rental terms and bike availability.
What are some good places to explore with a full-day e-bike rental?
A full day gives you time to combine several West Maui experiences instead of choosing just one destination. Depending on your route, you can explore Kāʻanapali, Kapalua, Oneloa Bay, D.T. Fleming Beach Park, Kapalua Bay, Dragon's Teeth at Makaluapuna Point, Honolua Store, and the hills above the coastline. You can also securely lock your bike and explore sections of the Kapalua Coastal Trail or Village Walking Trail on foot.
The extra time leaves room for beach stops, lunch, photos, and spontaneous detours along the way. Tell the team what kind of day you're looking for—scenery, beaches, food, exercise, or a little of everything—and they can help you plan a route before you set off.
What rules should I follow while riding my e-bike in Maui?
E-bikes follow the same basic rules of the road as bicycles. Ride on the right side of the road in the same direction as traffic, obey traffic lights, signs, and lane markings, and use hand signals when turning or stopping. When riding with others, travel single file rather than side-by-side.
Stay off sidewalks, golf course paths, and anywhere marked “No Bikes.” If you'll be riding around dusk or after dark, make sure your bike lights are turned on so you're easier for drivers and other road users to see.
Do I need previous e-bike experience?
No previous e-bike experience is required, but you do need to already know how to ride a bicycle confidently. Riders should be comfortable balancing, pedaling, braking, mounting and dismounting, and making controlled turns. Before you set off, you'll receive an orientation covering the e-bike controls and pedal-assist system so you can get comfortable with how everything works.
What is E-Bike Rescue, and what does it cover?
E-Bike Rescue is optional coverage that can be added before your ride for $10. It covers assistance for flat tires and electronic failures within a 7.5-mile (12 km) radius in West Maui.
Coverage does not extend north of Honolua Bay or south of Olowalu. Assistance outside the covered area may still be available for an additional fee based on distance. Running out of battery outside the West Maui boundaries is also not covered. If you'd like E-Bike Rescue, make sure to add it before beginning your ride.
How long does an e-bike battery last?
Battery range varies based on the bike, rider weight, terrain, gearing, and how much pedal assist you use. Typically, standard e-bikes can travel approximately 12–30 miles (19–48 km) per charge, while premium e-bikes may reach approximately 30–60 miles (48–97 km).
To conserve battery, use lower levels of pedal assist when you don't need the extra power and shift into an appropriate lower gear when climbing hills. If the battery does run out, you can still pedal and shift gears like a regular bicycle.
