Do I need prior rescue experience?
No. The course is designed to introduce and practice essential rescue skills in a structured, supportive environment. You should be comfortable paddling on flatwater and exiting your kayak.
What types of rescues will we practice?
You’ll practice multiple self-rescue techniques, assisted rescues, and basic rope-based skills, all focused on fast, simple responses that can be performed with minimal equipment.
What type of kayak will I use?
The course accommodates various kayak styles, including sit-inside and sit-on-top kayaks. Participants may use provided equipment or bring their own kayak.
