Where to Ride - North Tahoe Options

06 Forest Service Road-Sawtooth Trail
The 06 Forest Service road is a Fire Road that travels up and over Mount Watson and eventually drops into Tahoe City.  Along the road are single-track trails, most notably the Sawtooth trail. It's located about 1.5 miles from downtown Truckee. Access is via Palisades Drive to Silver Fir, then right on Silver Fir, left on Thelin, with the 06 road on the right. Note: Parking on neighborhood streets is prohibited from November to May.
Emmigrant Trail
A classic single-track trail north of Truckee, the Emigrant Trail meanders through meadows and forests for 8 miles to Stampede Reservoir, offering a mix of open views and wooded areas. To reach the trailhead, take Highway 89 north toward Sierraville for about 4 miles, turn right on Hobart Mills Road, and find the parking area immediately to the right.
Donner Lake Rim Trail
This scenic single-track provides stunning views, climbing up the south side of Tahoe Donner and connecting to trails like Johnson Canyon and the Tahoe Donner Glacier Way trailhead. It's easily accessible from downtown Truckee.
