Description

Hike to the tallest free falling waterfall east of the MS river - Fall Creek Falls (256ft) + 4 more huge waterfalls

Duration

9+ Hours - Actual duration will vary based on a variety of factors. Please plan for this to be a full-day adventure.

About

On this full-day adventure we journey approximately 2.5 hours east of our Nashville meetup location deep into the heart of the Cumberland Plateau. Here we will explore some of the tallest waterfalls around.

The Cumberland Plateau is a geologically rich, biodiverse region of middle Tennessee features numerous state parks and natural areas packed with awe inspiring waterfalls, mysterious caves, and breathtaking vistas.

We will spend about 5 to 7 hours exploring Fall Creek Falls State Park; a pristine area laced with cascades, gorges, waterfalls, streams and lush stands of virgin hardwood timber, the park beckons those who enjoy nature at her finest. Fall Creek Falls, at 256 feet, is the tallest free falling waterfall in the eastern United States. Other waterfalls within the park include Cane Creek Falls, Cane Creek Cascades/Falls, Coon Creek Falls 250ft, Piney Falls 95ft. and Rock House Falls 125ft.

Enjoy our carefully curated blend of hiking trails for an unforgettable experience where you will enjoy the signs and sounds of Cane Creek Cascades & Falls, Cane Creek Falls Overlook, Fall Creek Falls Overlook, and many other splendid sights. On this customized adventure, we will hike approximately 5 miles, cross large suspended swinging bridges and journey down into the massive gorge to the base of Fall Creek Falls itself. If you are daring and careful enough, you might even be able to hike to the back side of the Fall Creek Falls for an experience few will every encounter.
