Description

Explore Caves and Rapids in Puerto Rico’s Northern Karst Region!

Welcome to the home of the most extreme and unforgettable cave tubing experiences in Puerto Rico! This adventure is perfect for thrill-seekers and nature lovers ready to immerse themselves in the island’s rugged northern karst region. Your journey begins with a challenging hike down a muddy, slippery, and rocky trail to the river—an invigorating introduction that immediately connects you with the lush subtropical forest. Along the way, you’ll pass limestone formations, small springs, and glimpses of local wildlife before arriving at the top of a massive cave for a heart-pumping 250-foot zipline over the canyon.
Once at the river, the adventure kicks into high gear. You’ll hike upstream to the first enormous cave, jump into crystal-clear waters, and explore the hidden depths, discovering cascading water curtains and natural springs. The guides will lead you to secret underwater passages and show you the best spots for white-water tubing, where you’ll navigate rapids, towering canyon walls, and the rushing river that carves through the karst landscape.
The journey continues through a second and third cave, each offering opportunities for body rafting, swimming, and climbing small rock obstacles. The hike back to the starting point winds through the forest once more, giving you time to soak in the scenery and reflect on the day’s adrenaline-fueled adventure. This isn’t a casual walk in the park—this is real exploration, combining challenging hiking, cave exploration, and river thrills for a full-day adventure that only Puerto Rico’s wildest landscapes can offer.

FAQs

What clothing attire should I wear?

Each adventure has different specifications on proper clothing attire. But most of our activities only require average exercise clothes, for example: leggings (preferably at least knee length, and a t-shirt.

How dangerous are these activities?

These activities are extremely dangerous and should not be attempted without the help of professionals. We check all gear conditions before each tour; we also check weather and other issues that can risk our participant’s safety.

Can I bring a camera?

Yes, you can bring a camera at your own risk. It is possible to lose, damage or break it. We recommend water/shock proof cameras.

How much of the adventure will I be in the water and how much will I be hiking?

Hiking: About 40–50% of the tour involves hiking. This includes:

  • The initial trek down the slippery, rocky trail to reach the river.
  • Hiking upstream between caves to access the tubing and jumping spots.
  • Small climbs at cave exits and the final hike back to the vehicles.

In the water: About 50–60% of the adventure is spent in the water. This includes:

  • Tubing through white water sections and rapids.
  • Swimming and jumping in cave pools.
  • Exploring the caves themselves, including optional submersion into secret caves and water curtains.

So overall, you’ll spend a balanced amount of time both hiking through the forest and canyon and immersed in the river and cave waters, with the hike sections giving access to the most exciting tubing and cave experiences.
