About
The Redwood National and State Park span 131,983 acres of protected forests, grasslands, and beaches. While it’s easy to find beautiful trails and breathtakingly tall trees, you want to find the very best trails that lead to iconic Redwood vistas and prehistoric landscapes and we can take you there.
We like to call this hike our "Welcome to the Redwoods" hike because it really feels like Humboldt just shows off on this 3 mile loop. We meet at the trailhead for Trillium Falls parking lot, where you just might spot our local herd of elk grazing in the field.
The trail weaves through groves of tall redwoods and up fern-covered hillsides. With the elevation gain on the first half of the trip, we rate this hike as “intermediate” but the sight at the very top—a gorgeous waterfall makes the mildly strenuous experience more than worth it. With the lichen-draped Big Leaf Maples and babbling creeks, you’ll feel like you stepped back into the land of the dinosaurs.
The terrain consists of forest trails, gravel roads, creeks, and meadows. Although this hike is beautiful year-round, the best time to sign up would be in the spring and early summer, for the abundant wildflowers, or in early autumn for the berries!

When to arrive? Your guide will call you ahead of time to confirm your start time and coordinate your meeting spot. Plan on arriving at the trailhead at the time you’re scheduled.

What to wear? We recommend wearing comfortable hiking apparel with layers, which includes a light jacket/rain jacket depending on weather, and durable hiking shoes.

Our area can sometimes be a dynamic and unpredictable environment. All programs are dependent upon specific weather conditions and may need to be rescheduled or cancelled due to these factors. Pacific Outfitters reserves the right to make any changes to the scheduling of a class or program. In order to keep our programs affordable, a minimum number of participants may be required. If we are unable to fill a program to a minimum level of participation, we reserve the right to cancel the program. A full refund will be provided in the event of a cancelled or rescheduled activity (upon request for a rescheduled event). Please let us know of any changes in your schedule as well. We ask for at least a 48 hour notice for any cancellations or changes in your reservation. Just give us a call at (844) 926-6566.
