Description
Hit the Road in a Camper Van — One-Way Trips Available from New York
The East Coast is waiting. From the camper van pickup hub in Jersey City — just across the river from Manhattan — you're ideally positioned to explore the full range of what the northeastern U.S. has to offer. Head north through the Hudson Valley into the Adirondacks. Push east to Cape Cod, Acadia National Park, and the rugged Maine coast. Drive south through Shenandoah and down toward the Outer Banks. Or go west toward Niagara Falls, the Great Lakes, and beyond.
A camper van rental means you set the schedule. No hotel check-in times, no luggage hauling, no fixed agenda. The van is your room, your kitchen, and your transportation — all in one compact vehicle that fits in standard parking spots and reaches 25–30 miles per gallon on the highway.
One-way rentals are available — pick up in Jersey City and drop off at any other location across the U.S. without doubling back.

FAQs
What type of vans are in the fleet?
The campervans are minivans — Dodge Grand Caravans, Chrysler Pacificas, or similar models — converted with a sleeping cabin installation. They seat four and sleep two adults comfortably (or up to 5 with a rooftop sleeper). The vans do not have built-in plumbing — there is no toilet or shower inside. A portable solar camp shower and external kitchen setup are included.
Is there a minimum rental period?
Yes. The minimum varies by season — typically 3 days in winter and 5 days in summer. Last-minute short-term rentals may be possible based on availability; contact the team directly. You can also book the minimum and return early, though unused minimum days are non-refundable.
Can I do a one-way rental?
Yes. One-way rentals are available between all U.S. locations. A one-way drop fee applies, determined by distance and the specific pickup/drop-off locations. Confirm your route's fee at booking.
Can I take the van to Canada?
Yes, all vans can travel to Canada at no extra charge. Mexico travel requires a specific approved van and special insurance arranged in advance.
Is parking available at the pickup location?
Long-term vehicle parking is not available on-site. Plan to arrive by rideshare or public transit, or arrange nearby paid parking. The Jersey City location is close to PATH train access from Manhattan.
Can I go off-road?
No. Off-road driving is prohibited and not covered by any insurance option.
What happens if I have a mechanical issue on the road?
24/7 roadside assistance is included with every rental. Contact the support team via the number provided with your reservation — support is managed via SMS text.
What are the best road trips from New York?
The Catskills and Adirondacks are 2–4 hours north and perfect for hiking and lakeside camping. Acadia National Park in Maine is about 8 hours away and delivers stunning coastal scenery, world-class hiking, and some of the best stargazing on the East Coast. Cape Cod is about 5 hours — great for beaches and seafood. Shenandoah National Park in Virginia is 5–6 hours south, known for Skyline Drive and its network of hiking trails. For longer one-way adventures, reviewers have driven the full eastern seaboard from New York to Miami, and coast-to-coast to Seattle.
What campgrounds are near Jersey City?
Liberty Harbor RV Park is literally on-site at 11 Marin Blvd — right at the pickup location, with views of the Manhattan skyline. Croton Point Park on the Hudson (1 hour north) offers hookups and riverside camping. Black Bear Campground in the Hudson Valley (about 1.5 hours) has a full range of amenities including Wi-Fi and a pool. Reservations are recommended for all, especially in summer.
How far is the pickup location from Manhattan?
The Jersey City hub is just across the Hudson River from Lower Manhattan — about 15–20 minutes by rideshare or PATH train. The Newark Airport is approximately 15–20 minutes away by car.
Do I need to book in advance?
Yes, especially in summer (June–September) and around holidays. New York is a high-demand pickup point and vans book up quickly.
What's the best time of year to visit from New York?
Late spring (May–June) and fall (September–October) are ideal — comfortable temperatures, fewer crowds, and spectacular foliage in the fall. Summer is peak season but also the busiest and most expensive. Winter travel is possible with proper preparation, but note that some campgrounds close seasonally.
