Description

Entrajo Canyon & Packrafting Combo – Full Day Moab Canyoneering & River Trip

The Entrajo Canyon & Packrafting Combo is a dynamic full day adventure that blends a playful and hands-on slot canyon experience with an afternoon on the Colorado River. This trip is ideal for those looking for a more interactive canyon route paired with a refreshing and scenic float.
The day begins with a short drive to the trailhead, followed by a scenic approach hike with views toward the La Sal Mountains. As you enter Entrajo Canyon, the experience becomes more immersive. You will navigate twisting sandstone narrows, climb over and around natural obstacles, and use rope-assisted techniques to descend short drops. This route often includes water features, with sections that may require wading or a short swim depending on recent conditions.
Entrajo Canyon offers a true canyoneering experience in a shorter distance, combining movement, problem-solving, and exploration. It is an engaging and rewarding route that feels more adventurous than a typical hike.

Once we've had our fill of canyoneering, we'll hop in the van and take a scenic ride along the Colorado River, where we'll stop for lunch and learn about the wonders of packrafting and river safety. Packrafts are one-person inflatable boats that are lightweight and pack down to the size of a tent. This allows us to walk a short distance to any non-standard put-in along the river, so we can choose a section that accommodates your group - choose anything from class II (sometimes III) rapids to an easy flat-water float. We want you to enjoy your time on the river, so the choice is yours!

This full day adventure is ideal for beginners, families, and anyone looking to experience both canyoneering and river travel in a single day. With minimal technical hiking and a variety of landscapes, it delivers a balanced and memorable introduction to Moab’s diverse terrain.

Do I need prior experience for this trip?

No prior experience is necessary. Both the canyoneering and packrafting portions are beginner-friendly, and your guide will provide all instruction needed throughout the day.

How physically demanding is this trip?

This is an active full day, but manageable for most guests with a reasonable level of fitness. Expect a few miles of hiking, time on your feet in the canyon, and light paddling on the river. The pace is steady with plenty of breaks.

Each guest will paddle their own lightweight inflatable boat. After a short introduction to paddling and river safety, you will launch into a section of the Colorado River chosen to match your group’s comfort level. Options range from calm floating to small, fun rapids.

If a tour is canceled because of a late arrival, a refund will not be issued.
