Guided Paddleboard Tour to Emerald Cove with Las Vegas Pickup

Start your day with hotel pickup in Las Vegas for a scenic drive through the Mojave Desert to Willow Beach Marina. Once there, your guide will provide all necessary gear and a short introduction to paddleboarding before you launch into the calm waters of the Colorado River. The area’s still conditions make it a great setting for beginners, while the canyon’s natural beauty keeps it engaging for experienced paddlers.
As you move downstream, the canyon narrows and the scenery grows more dramatic. Towering cliffs rise above the river, and the clear water often reveals small fish and river rocks below. Your guide will share stories about the river’s formation, its role in shaping the Southwest, and the plants and animals that inhabit the canyon. Several small beaches along the way offer good spots to rest or cool off.
The trip’s destination is Emerald Cove, a small grotto tucked into the canyon wall where the water glows vivid green under the sunlight. It’s an inviting place to pause before turning back toward Willow Beach. With hotel pickup included, this tour offers a convenient and memorable escape from the Las Vegas Strip.

What is the usual water temperature of the Lake?

Water temperatures can range from the low 50s in the winter to the low 80s during the summer months. Wind can sometimes turn this glassy water into 4- to 6-foot swells with very choppy conditions.

Do I need to have paddling skills to join?

This tour has a moderate difficulty, which is perfect for beginners who seek an extraordinary kayaking experience. Our expert guides will help you gain confidence while paddling.

Cancellation Policy

To cancel a tour, you must notify River Dogz at least 48 hours prior to your scheduled shuttle pick-up time or tour meet-up time (if providing your own transportation). This notification should be sent by replying to your confirmation email with a cancellation request.
  1. Standard Tours: If cancelled 48 hours in advance, the tour amount will be refunded, less a $40 per person, per tour fee. Cancellations made within 48 hours of the tour start time are non-refundable.
  2. Custom, Group (10+ participants), and Promotional Tours: These bookings are non-refundable once confirmed.
  3. Hoover Dam Tour: A cancellation or rescheduling fee of $65 applies to our Hoover Dam Tour due to non-refundable and non-changeable permit purchases with the park service.
River Dogz strives to accommodate guests by offering rescheduling options or future credit when possible. These courtesies are at the discretion of management and may incur additional fees.
