This guided paddleboard tour begins at Willow Beach Marina, where you’ll meet your guide and get set up with your board and gear. Located roughly 45 minutes from Las Vegas, Willow Beach provides easy access to the quiet waters of the Black Canyon, known for its clear water and dramatic sandstone walls. After a quick orientation, you’ll paddle downstream toward Emerald Cove at a comfortable, easygoing pace.

Along the way, your guide will point out unique rock formations, desert plants, and possible wildlife sightings such as bighorn sheep, osprey, or waterfowl. The water is typically calm, making this section of the river ideal for learning or improving your balance on a paddleboard. There are a few opportunities to step off your board, stretch, and take in the view from small coves or sandy beaches.

Emerald Cove is the highlight of the route—a narrow grotto where the light filters through the canyon to illuminate the water in bright shades of green. Water temperatures can range from the low 50s in the winter to the low 80s during the summer months. Wind can sometimes turn this glassy water into 4- to 6-foot swells with very choppy conditions.

Cancellation Policy

To cancel a tour, you must notify River Dogz at least 48 hours prior to your scheduled shuttle pick-up time or tour meet-up time (if providing your own transportation). This notification should be sent by replying to your confirmation email with a cancellation request.

Standard Tours: If cancelled 48 hours in advance, the tour amount will be refunded, less a $40 per person, per tour fee. Cancellations made within 48 hours of the tour start time are non-refundable.
Custom, Group (10+ participants), and Promotional Tours: These bookings are non-refundable once confirmed.
Hoover Dam Tour: A cancellation or rescheduling fee of $65 applies to our Hoover Dam Tour due to non-refundable and non-changeable permit purchases with the park service.
