FAQs
Is transportation provided?
We provide transportation from your hotel in the San Juan areas, which include: Isla Verde, Ocean Park, Miramar, Condado and Old San Juan.
What if we’re staying outside of San Juan?
We will schedule a meeting point where we will pick you up and drop you off after the tour is over.
How difficult is the El Salto Adventure?
All participants are required to be in good physical condition. Our adventure involves sustained hiking uphill and upriver. All participants have to be able to hike uphill on uneven terrain and must not have any physical impairments. We have a maximum weight limit of 220 lbs (100 kg), which should be proportionate to your height. If you are unsure of your physical condition, please refer to a height-weight ratio chart here.
Do you have any restrictions?
Pregnant women are not advised to partake in our tours, due to the high level of risk involved in them. Rocaliza guides can and will determine if a participant is not fit to partake in the adventure. Participants under the influence of drugs or alcohol will not be permitted to partake on any of the activities.
What happens if there is bad weather?
Rocaliza reserves the right to cancel any tour due to adverse weather conditions at anytime. If this happens you will not be charged.
Is lunch provided?
We provide a full Puerto Rican lunch (ex. Rice, beans, meat, veggies, appetizers, etc.). We also provide water and snacks (fruits) during the tour.
What should we wear?
Shorts and t-shirts are the norm. We recommend swimming trunks for the guys and bathing suits underneath the clothing for the girls. Rain jackets and ponchos are always a good idea, since we receive more than 100 inches of rain per year.
What shoes should we wear?
The best options are hiking sandals, such as Keens, that provide support on the heels and protect your toes. If you do not have these or similar sandals we recommend water shoes or sneakers. Flip flops are not accepted during the tour.
Will our cameras get wet?
Our tour guides always carry dry bags to protect your cameras when they are most likely to get wet.
How long do the adventures last?
Pickup for our full day tour begins at 9:00 am and you should be returning back to San Juan anywhere between 3:00 and 5:00 pm.
