Description

Eagle Harbor Kayaking Tour in Peninsula State Park, Door County

Experience Peninsula State Park the way it was meant to be seen—from the water. Launching from the charming village of Ephraim, this guided kayak tour takes you along Eagle Harbor and beneath the towering limestone bluffs that define one of Door County’s most iconic landscapes. As you paddle, the shoreline opens up to sweeping views of Eagle Bluff Lighthouse, quiet coves, and rugged rock formations shaped by centuries of wind and waves.
Peninsula State Park is Wisconsin’s sixth-largest state park and the oldest along Lake Michigan, spanning more than 3,700 acres and over seven miles of dramatic coastline. From your kayak, you’ll pass highlights like Nicolet Bay and Tennison Bay, and glide past Eagle Cave, a striking rock formation that juts nearly 200 feet into the bay. Your guide will share insights into the park’s natural history, geology, and maritime past, adding depth to the scenery unfolding around you.
On calm days, the adventure may extend to Horseshoe Island—a scenic island just offshore with an inviting, emerald-blue bay that’s perfect for a refreshing swim or short shoreline break. With a relaxed pace, small groups, and ever-changing views, this tour is ideal for paddlers who want to explore Door County’s most celebrated natural area in a way that feels immersive, unhurried, and connected to the landscape.

What kind of kayaks are we going to paddle?

Our guests normally paddle in sit-on-top tandem kayaks. The exception is when a group has an odd number of people. Groups with odd numbers will have to decide amongst themselves which guest will be paddling in a single sit-on-top.

How much experience do I need?

NONE! Our goal is to get everybody capable out on the water and showcase some of Door County’s beauty.

Can I bring my own kayak?

Absolutely! If you have a kayak and would like to join us with your equipment, you are more than welcome.
