FAQs
Any other important requirements or reminders for this activity?
For all of our whitewater trips, guests must be able/willing to do the following:
- Respond to and follow verbal or visual instruction.
- Independently roll face up in water while wearing a PFD.
- Demonstrate a dynamic sitting position with head above water (sitting upright), and float with feet up in water.
- Be able to navigate with minimal assistance on rocky, uneven ground and descend staircases with no railings.
- Paddle for up to 2 minutes at a time.
- If they unexpectedly find themselves in the water, they should remain calm, lie flat, and orient their body so that their feet are pointing downstream.
- On the Dryway trip, longer unexpected swims in rocky class III/IV rapids are possible, and guests need to be prepared to self-rescue by swimming aggressively to shore or other rafts and/or be prepared to receive a throw rope from shore.
How many people can fit in a boat?
We generally put 5–7 people in a boat, but this doesn’t mean that you need to have a group of 5–7 to go rafting. For example, if you’re reserving for two people, you may be paired with a party of 4 or 5. If you have a group of 10 people, we would just divide you into two boats that travel together on the water. We also have two 8-9 person boats that are sometimes available for this trip.
Will there be photos of my trip?
Yes! Our photographer will be stationed taking high-quality pictures of each raft. Back at base you’ll be able to view your photos in the rafting pavilion, and you’ll have an opportunity to purchase the photos of your raft.
Where can we leave our car keys?
Keep your car keys with you during registration, as we will collect those and put them in a lockbox just before gearing up, then return them to you when you get off the boats.
Are wetsuits required?
Wetsuits are not required, but we have them for rental should you want them! Wetsuits are great for layering in cold weather or for those who get cold easily.
What if I have food allergies?
We cannot guarantee that the ingredients in our meals do not contain nuts or other food allergens. If you have food allergies or other special dietary needs, we strongly suggest you bring your bag lunch in non-glass containers, and we will pack it with the other lunches on your trip.
If you intend to bring your own meal, please let us know ahead of time, since we take all of the food for the day out on the river with us and would need to plan on including your food.
What happens if the forecast calls for rain or storms?
We run our trips rain or shine, so you should come prepared for the weather! Should we need to cancel the trip, we will make that decision the morning of the trip. However, it’s rare that weather forces us to cancel our rafting trips.
Can we bring alcohol?
The use of recreational drugs or alcohol is prohibited. If you arrive under the influence, you will be prohibited from participating in the day’s activity, and you will not receive any refund.
Cancellation Policy
- More than 30 days in advance of your trip date, we retain a $10 per person cancellation fee.
- 30 days or less in advance of your trip date, you forfeit the entire cost of your trip, unless you have purchased the Cancellation Insurance.
