Description

Door County Wetlands Kayak Tour – Logan Creek State Natural Area

Step into one of Door County’s most overlooked landscapes on this guided wetland kayak tour through the Logan Creek State Natural Area. Led by knowledgeable naturalists, this relaxed paddle offers a rare look at a protected northern Wisconsin ecosystem—where cold, spring-fed water winds through cedar forest and open marsh before spilling into the calm waters of Clark Lake. It’s an ideal experience for nature lovers, bird watchers, and families looking for a quieter side of Door County.

Peninsula Kayak Company is the only outfitter with permitted access to Logan Creek, giving you entry into a section of the park few visitors ever see. As you move slowly along the creek, you’ll paddle beneath white cedar and black ash, with yellow birch, balsam fir, hemlock, and white pine forming a dense, shaded canopy. The exceptionally clean water—designated an Outstanding Water Resource—supports rare and state-endangered plant species, while the surrounding wetlands provide critical habitat for breeding birds throughout the season.

The tour begins from a private launch and follows Logan Creek as it opens into Clark Lake, where there’s time to explore at an unhurried pace. Depending on conditions and group interest, your guide may offer the option to step out for a short hike before turning back toward the creek. Calm, immersive, and rich in natural detail, this wetland kayak tour is less about distance and more about noticing what’s around you—making it one of the most peaceful paddles in Door County.
