Description

Full-Day Custom Snowshoe or Cross-Country Ski Adventure - Jackson & Grand Teton National Park

Experience a full day of winter exploration in Grand Teton National Park and the surrounding Jackson Hole wilderness on a private guided snowshoe or cross-country ski tour. Designed entirely around your interests and pace, this custom adventure is perfect for small groups, families, or photographers seeking a deeper look at the Tetons’ quiet winter landscape.
Your PSIA-certified naturalist guide will help you craft the ideal itinerary—whether you prefer gliding along the Teton Park Road Nordic Track beneath the Cathedral Group, exploring the forested Taggart Lake or Bradley Lake trails, or breaking your own path through the snow-covered meadows near Moose and Antelope Flats. The day’s route is shaped by snow conditions, your fitness level, and your curiosity—so you can stop often to watch for wildlife, take photos, or simply enjoy the stillness of the season.
Midday, you’ll pause to warm up and enjoy lunch at Dornan’s, a local favorite in Moose, with unbeatable views of the Teton Range. From there, continue your journey deeper into the park or venture into new terrain, following fresh animal tracks and exploring areas most visitors never reach in winter.
This private, small-group outing offers a rare chance to see moose, elk, bison, foxes, eagles, and other wildlife that remain active through the snowy months—all while traveling quietly across the snow with the guidance of an expert naturalist who brings the landscape to life.

FAQs

Can I choose the energy level of the tour?

Of course! This custom tour is completely tailored to your group. Choose your ideal pace!

  • Leisure: This type of tour will focus on taking advantage of teaching moments to learn about winter ecology and interpret animal signs. We’ll have plenty of time to stop and take photos, and we’ll be moving at a pace where you can easily hold a conversation with friends.
  • Moderate: Our moderate tours will move at a slightly faster pace, focusing on covering a little more ground so that we can experience more of the backcountry.
  • Aerobic: We offer the aerobic energy level for any of our tours that are booked privately. Aerobic-style tours are great for our guests who are in top physical condition and don’t mind breaking a sweat. We’ll focus these tours on covering as much ground as possible and experiencing the depths of the backcountry.

Can we see wildlife during the tour?

Yes — Grand Teton National Park is home to elk, moose, bison, foxes, coyotes, eagles, and more. While sightings are never guaranteed, your guide is skilled at spotting tracks, signs, and animals moving through the snow.

Will we enter Grand Teton National Park?

Yes — Snowshoe & XC ski tours take place within Grand Teton National Park under a National Park Service permit.

Are restrooms available along the route?

There are restrooms at the trailhead, but not along the route. Please plan to use facilities before departure.
