Crested Butte is a world-famous mountain bike destination with over 750 miles of singletrack for every skill level. Mt. Crested Butte offers a downhill mountain bike park that has chairlift access to enjoy the downhill mountain biking-specific trails. There is also easy access to cross-country mountain biking trails that you can ride out of directly from the shop, as well as recreational paths in and around the town of Crested Butte, which are a great place to take e-bike rentals. No matter what type of riding you're looking for, we have the bike for you!

Elevate Bike Shop is located on the second-floor lobby off Elevation Hotel & Spa at Crested Butte resort, at the base of the mountain by the chairlifts.

Ages

Renters under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent at the time of rental. We have youth bikes that can accommodate kids who are 41" and taller.

FAQs

What is the range of the e-bikes that you rent?

We offer Super73 E-bikes, which have a range of 35-45 miles and go about 20+mph. Do you have bike racks available to rent?

Yes! We have Thule racks that are available to rent.

Do you have bike trailers available to rent?

Yes, we do. However, at this time they are only available to be attached to our E-bikes. They are $50/day to rent. Please enter a comment if you'd like a bike trailer when selecting the E-bikes to rent

Do you have clipless pedals available?

Our bikes come standard with flat pedals, but if you prefer clipless you can select this option at checkout for no additional charge. We have both SPD or Eggbeater style.

What trails are e-bikes allowed on in Crested Butte?

E-biking is allowed on all motorized trails in Gunnison National Forest. However, these bikes are not permitted on any non-motorized trails in Gunnison National Forest. Please note that these trails are mostly singletrack; because our e-bike rentals are townie bikes, they are not appropriate for the trails in Gunnison National Forest and are best-suited to recreational paths.

Are e-bikes allowed at Crested Butte Mountain Bike Park?

Although e-bikes are permitted at the Crested Butte Bike Park, our e-bikes are recreational "townie" bikes, which are not appropriate for the trails. If you wish to ride at the park, we recommend a downhill full suspension bike.
