Description

Bunch Bike Cargo E-Bike Rental — Family Adventures on Peachtree City's Cart Paths

The Bunch Bike is a three-wheeled electric front-load cargo bike built for carrying — children, pets, cargo, or some combination of all three — across Peachtree City's legendary 100-mile path network. Kids ride in the front compartment with a clear view of everything ahead; the electric motor handles all the weight behind you. The result is a genuinely unique family adventure on the paths — and one of the most eye-catching vehicles you'll see out there.

One of America's most unusual and wonderful places, Peachtree City is a planned community of 40,000 people built around a 100+ mile network of paved multi-use paths that connects every neighborhood, village center, park, lake, restaurant, and shop in the city without a single traffic light in the way. Golf carts share the paths with cyclists and pedestrians, the speed limit is 15 mph, and the whole city operates at a pace that's a world away from Atlanta's freeways 26 miles north. A family e-bike ride is the finest way to experience it.

Bunch Bikes are three-wheeled and self-supporting at rest, with adjustable handlebars and a front cargo area fitted with safety harnesses. The electric assist makes the added weight of passengers and cargo manageable on the flat, paved paths throughout PTC. Note that the operator must be an experienced, confident cyclist — the Bunch Bike is heavier than a standard bike and handles differently, especially when loaded.

FAQs

How does the Bunch Bike work?

The Bunch Bike has a large front cargo compartment where children, a pet, or cargo ride facing forward. The operator pedals from behind with electric assist. The bike has three wheels — two at the rear and one at the front under the cargo box — making it self-supporting and stable at rest. The operator steers via adjustable handlebars. The handling is more like a cargo trike than a standard bike — wider, heavier, and requiring more confidence at low speeds. A parking lot practice run is required before departure.

Is the Bunch Bike suitable for first-time riders?

No — the Bunch Bike requires a confident, experienced cyclist as the operator. Its weight and three-wheel handling are noticeably different from a standard bike, particularly when loaded with passengers. All riders must be able to successfully ride a regular bike as a baseline, and comfort with the Bunch Bike specifically is assessed during the parking lot orientation.

What can I carry in the front compartment?

Up to 4 children, 1 adult, or 1 large dog. Children must wear their own bike helmets (not provided).

What is a Pedego electric bike and how does it work?

Pedego electric bikes use a pedal-assist system — as you pedal, the motor kicks in to amplify your effort. You can dial the assist level up or down depending on how much help you want, and most models also have a throttle for effortless cruising. On Peachtree City's 100+ miles of paved multi-use paths, the pedal-assist means you can explore the entire city — every village center, every lake, every park and restaurant — without a car and without working up a sweat.

How far can I go on a single charge?

Most Pedego bikes are rated for 20–60 miles (32–97 km) per charge. Peachtree City's path network spans 100+ miles (161+ km) — a full 8-hour day of riding comfortably stays within range on a single charge.

Do I need experience riding a bicycle to rent?

You must be able to ride a standard bicycle independently before renting. This requirement applies to all riders on all models. Staff will walk you through the controls before departure.

Are helmets required?

Georgia state law does not require helmets for adult e-bike riders. Helmets are included with every rental and are strongly recommended.

Do I need to be physically fit?

Peachtree City's path network is predominantly flat and paved throughout — it was designed for golf carts and is equally accessible for e-bikes. The pedal-assist makes the riding effortless for all fitness levels.

Can I ride on dirt trails or unpaved surfaces?

No — all bikes are strictly for use on paved surfaces only. The cart paths and multi-use paved paths of Peachtree City are perfect for this. Do not take any rental bike onto dirt trails, dirt paths, or rock surfaces.

What is the weather policy?

Rentals go forward in all but severe weather. Georgia summers are warm and humid — morning rentals are recommended from June through August. Contact the shop if severe weather is forecast on your rental day.

What happens if I have a mechanical issue?

Contact the shop directly. Lock bikes securely whenever you stop.

Do I need to book in advance?

Booking in advance is recommended, especially on weekends and during peak season.

Which model should I choose?

Pedego Interceptor 24" (Cruiser) — The most popular model in the fleet. A relaxed, upright cruiser with a 24" wheel that fits riders 4'9"–5'6" (1.45–1.68 m). Best for riders in that height range who want a comfortable, classic e-bike experience on the paths.

Pedego Element Fat Tire — An all-terrain fat tire e-bike with a powerful 500W motor and 48V long-range battery. Wider tires provide extra stability and a smooth, planted ride on all paved surfaces. Fits riders 4'9"–5'6" (1.45–1.68 m). Best for riders who want more traction, stability, or performance than the standard cruiser.

EBC Model S — A classic cruiser-style e-bike from Electric Bike Company that fits a wide range of heights: 5'2"–6'10" (1.57–2.08 m). The best option for taller riders, and a comfortable, relaxed choice for anyone in that range who wants an upright, easy-riding experience.

Urtopia Carbon Fold — A lightweight carbon folding e-bike that packs into your car easily. Fits riders 5'1"–6'2" (1.55–1.88 m). Best for riders who want to combine their e-bike rental with other activities, park at one location, ride somewhere, fold the bike into their car, and drive to the next stop. Unique in the fleet.

Bunch Bike — A three-wheeled electric front-load cargo bike designed to carry children, pets, or cargo in the front compartment. Best for families who want to bring kids or a dog along, or anyone who needs to haul gear. Operator must be a confident cyclist — the Bunch Bike is heavier and handles differently from a standard two-wheel bike. See the Bunch Bike listing for full details.

Where can I ride from the shop?

The shop is directly connected to Peachtree City's 100+ mile paved path network. The paths wind through all five of the city's village centers, past Lake Peachtree and Lake Kedron, through the Flat Creek Nature Area and its boardwalks over wetlands, past The Fred outdoor amphitheater, The Avenue shopping district, Line Creek Brewing, and dozens of restaurants and local businesses — all without touching a public road. Download the NavigatePTC app before your rental for the best path navigation.

What makes Peachtree City's path system special?

Peachtree City has more golf carts per household than anywhere else in America — over 10,000 registered golf carts in a city of 40,000 people. The 100+ mile path network was built to connect every corner of the city's five village centers without cars, and it works. Residents routinely run errands, commute to work, and go out to dinner entirely on the paths. An e-bike puts you right in the middle of that culture, at a pace where you can actually see and experience the city.

Are the paths flat?

The paths are predominantly flat with only gentle grades — the system was designed to be accessible at golf cart speeds. The e-bike's pedal-assist handles any inclines easily.

Can I navigate the paths without getting lost?

The NavigatePTC app is the official city path navigation tool — free to download and highly recommended. Bring it loaded on your phone before your rental.
