Description
2-Hour Boulder E-Bike Rental — Explore Boulder by Electric Bike
Boulder has over 200 miles (322 km) of bike lanes, routes, and paths threading through some of Colorado's most stunning scenery — and a 2-hour e-bike rental is the perfect way to sample it all. Cruise along the Boulder Creek Path with the Flatirons rising to the west, cruise through the historic Pearl Street district, or roll through tree-lined neighborhoods that make this city one of America's most livable. The pedal-assist motor handles the hills and headwinds, so you can focus on taking it all in.
From the shop on Broadway, you're steps from the Boulder Creek Path and just minutes from downtown. Staff will point you toward routes that fit your pace — whether you want a scenic spin along the creek, a loop through the University of Colorado campus, or a push out toward Eben G. Fine Park at the mouth of Boulder Canyon.

FAQs
What is a Pedego electric bike and how does it work?
Pedego electric bikes use a pedal-assist system — as you pedal, the motor kicks in to amplify your effort. You can dial the assist level up or down depending on how much of a workout you want. The motor does not do all the work on its own; you still pedal, but hills feel flat and headwinds disappear. Most Pedego models also have a throttle, which can move the bike forward without pedaling — useful for starting from a stop.
How far can I go on a single charge?
Range depends on the model, rider weight, terrain, wind, and assist level used. Most Pedego bikes are rated for 20–60 miles (32–97 km) per charge. On a relaxed ride at moderate assist, expect to comfortably cover 25–40 miles (40–64 km). Staff can advise on range for the specific routes they recommend.
Do I need experience riding a bicycle to use an e-bike?
You should be comfortable riding a standard bicycle before using an e-bike. The pedal-assist adds speed and power, which makes basic bike-handling skills important. If you haven’t ridden in a while, practicing in a flat, quiet area first is a good idea. Staff will walk you through the controls during your orientation.
Are helmets required?
Yes — helmets are required for all riders with no exceptions. Helmets are included with every rental and tour.
Do I need to be a strong cyclist?
Not at all. The pedal-assist motor is designed to level the playing field — you don’t need cycling fitness or experience with hills. You do need to be comfortable riding and balancing a bicycle. If you can ride a bike, you can do this.
What is the weather policy?
Rentals and tours go forward rain or shine — e-bikes handle light rain well and are a great way to get out regardless of the weather. In the event of severe weather or dangerous conditions, please contact the shop directly to discuss your options.
What happens if I get a flat tire or the bike has a mechanical issue?
Contact the shop directly if you experience a mechanical issue during your rental. For guided tours, your guide carries basic tools for minor issues. Guests are responsible for stolen bikes — keep someone with the bikes at all times when stopped.
Is parking available at the shop?
Yes — there is a private parking lot on-site, in front of and beside the building on Broadway between Portland Place and North St.
Do I need to book in advance?
Booking in advance is strongly recommended, especially on weekends and during peak season (May through October). The shop is open Wednesday through Sunday, 10:00 AM–5:00 PM; closed Monday and Tuesday.
What time does the shop open and close?
Wednesday through Sunday, 10:00 AM–5:00 PM. Closed Monday and Tuesday. All bikes must be returned by closing time.
