With Black Tie Adventure Rentals, you can book top-of-the-line mountain bike and electric bikes easily online, and pick your bikes up conveniently in town, or relax as your equipment is delivered right to your Mammoth Lakes accommodation ($50 delivery fee). Never wait in line again! Black Tie provides expert fitting, stellar service and easy returns.
Location
Rent for 1/2 day or full day and pick up your gear easily at our walk-in shop! Conveniently located in the center of town at 501 Old Mammoth Road (next to Vons) and directly adjacent to the Town Bike Loop. Not only a great place to get your rentals, we have a full service retail shop with a selection of parts, clothing and accessories!
Want your equipment delivered? We will bring top of the line gear to your vacation accommodation ($50 delivery fee)! A Black Tie gear expert will go over your gear with you and get it set up properly. Once you are done with the equipment, you can return it to our shop or we will come pick it up.

Where to Ride
Once you pick up your mountain bike or e-bike rental in Mammoth, you’ve got tons of trails to explore. The Mammoth Bike Park is the main hub for lift-served downhill and cross-country riding, with trails ranging from beginner flow to expert-level descents. Class 1 pedal-assist e-bikes are permitted throughout Mammoth Bike Park. Scenic cross-country trails include the Mammoth Rock Trail and the Mountain View Trail, both part of the Mammoth Lakes Trail System - a network with approximately 300 miles of soft-surface, paved, and mixed-surface trails.
For a more mellow ride, you can cruise the scenic Lakes Basin Path, a paved multi-use trail which takes you past alpine lakes and offers incredible mountain views, or pedal the Town Loop, a paved, 7.8-mile multi-use trail that winds through Mammoth Lakes with mellow terrain, scenic views, and easy riding for families and beginners.

What is your physical location?
Our retail/walk-in location is conveniently located in the center of town at 501 Old Mammoth Road, just next to the Vons Plaza. If you cannot make it to us, we deliver! We can meet you at your hotel, home, camp site, RV park, favorite trailhead or body of water!
What do I bring with me the day of my rental?
Come dressed/prepared for any condition, weather in the mountains can change at the drop of a hat despite what the weather APP says. Snacks, water bottle (We sell them if you forget yours!), and most importantly sunscreen/hats and other sun protection.
How fast will the E-mountain bike go?
Top speed for e-assist is 20 MPH.
How long with the battery last on the E-mountain bike rental?
Battery range varies depending on a variety of factors including; model of bike, rider weight, terrain, throttle usage, peddling power/speed, etc. Most of our E-bikes enjoy a range of 50+ miles.
Do I have to wear a helmet?
If you’re riding a Class 1 or Class 2 e-bike in California (all our bikes) and are under 18 years old, you must wear a helmet. Wearing a helmet is optional, but HIGHLY RECOMENDED for those 18 and older or those riding non E-Bikes.
What happens if I damage a bike?
Bikes must be returned to us in the same condition as when they were rented. Renters are responsible for covering the cost of any neccessary parts, repairs and labor to restore your bike to top notch condition.
Do you deliver or pick up bikes?
Absolutely, that is one of the things that makes Black Tie so special, our delivery service. Delivery is FREE for multi-day rentals and can be arranged for a fee for single day/half day rentals.
What happens if I get a flat tire?
Black Tie is mobile! If you run into any issues during your adventures, just give us a call at (760) 934-7009 for assistance.
When do you charge my card?
We collect a credit card to hold all reservations. We do not charge cards until rental equipment is picked up and signed for.
Can we rent for multiple days?
Yes, absolutely. Rent as long as you like and recieve discounted pricing for multi-day rentals, just ask us about any available promos or discounts.
How Old Do You Need To Be To Rent?
There are no age restrictions on Class 1 and 2 e-bikes (all our bikes). A parent or guardian who is 18 or older must sign for all minors.
What comes with the rental?
Bike and helmet. Accessories and add-ons are available at standard daily rates.
Do you offer insurance? What does it cover?
Unfortunately, we do not. Bikes must be returned to us in the same condition as when they were rented. Renters are responsible for covering the cost of any neccessary parts, repairs and labor to restore your bike to top notch condition.
