Types of Bike Rentals

Downhill Mountain Bike - Standard or Enduro

If you're looking for a gravity-fed ride in a bike park or via lift access, downhill bikes are for you. Take one out to a bike park or take a lift and ride it down the mountain. Bikes in this package are either enduro bikes or downhill bikes. For enduro bikes, you'll hop on a Scott Ransom 930 or similar, while for downhill bikes you can expect a GT Fury or similar model.

Pro Tip: If you want to climb or ride up the mountain on a bike, check out the trail bikes.

Full Suspension Trail Bikes

If you're looking to ride up and around mountain trails, then trail bikes are your top choice. These bikes are tough enough to handle the trails. You'll hop on a Trek Fuel Ex 5, Norco Fluid or similar model. 

Path E-Bike

If you're looking for a way to take the whole family out on a bike ride around town to see the sights, you won't be disappointed on an e-bike. You'll hop on a Trek Verve+ 2 Low-Step or similar model with pedal assist.

Kids Mountain Bike

The kids downhill bikes are good for a gravity-fed experience for your young rider 5'2" and shorter. You can count on our experts to fit your child with the best bike for them.

Pro Tip: If your child is over 5'2", reserve an adult bike for the safest and best fit.

Kids Path Bike

If you're looking to cruise around town or ride smooth trails as a family, renting a path bike will keep your kid smiling. These bikes come in different wheel sizes for your growing youngster.

Duration

Rent for a half-day, full day, or multi-day! Choose your pick-up and drop-off dates at checkout. Our half-day rentals are for 4 hours, and begin either in the morning or afternoon. Half-day morning rentals are 10 AM – 2 PM. Half-day afternoon rentals are 2 PM – 6 PM.

What to Bring / Wear

We recommend wearing layers you can remove as needed and packing rain gear or wind protection. Consider bringing a backpack to store any extra items and a water bottle if you’re cruising around town.

FAQ

What does the damage waiver cover?

Your waiver covers all damage that can be repaired. It doesn’t cover loss, theft or negligence.

Can I change my rental date after I book?

Yes. We understand plans change. We’re happy to modify your reservation up to 24 hours in advance.

Do you rent protective gear / body armor?

Yes, for certain bike park and downhill bike rentals. These options include knee and elbow pads and body armor and can be selected at checkout.

What time of year do you rent bikes?

Typically, May through August, but this can vary by weather conditions at the resort.

What happens if I get a flat tire?

Safety first. Dismount and move your bike to a safe place. Then, call the rental shop. We’ll help fix your flat and get you back out there. We recommend bringing a cell phone and adding the shop’s number before you begin your ride.

What trails are e-bikes allowed on in Crested Butte?

E-biking is allowed on all motorized trails in Gunnison National Forest. However, these bikes are not permitted on any non-motorized trails in Gunnison National Forest. Please note that these trails are mostly singletrack; because our e-bike rentals are townie bikes, they are not appropriate for the trails in Gunnison National Forest and are best-suited to recreational paths.

Are e-bikes allowed at Crested Butte Mountain Bike Park?

Although e-bikes are permitted at the Crested Butte Bike Park, our e-bikes are recreational "townie" bikes, which are not appropriate for the trails. If you wish to ride at the park, we recommend a downhill full suspension bike.
