FAQs
What makes this tour different from other Austin e-bike rides?
This ride is all about staying cool while exploring Austin. Unlike city-heavy tours, it combines local splash pads, colorful murals, and hidden neighborhood gems. You’ll get a mix of active fun, water breaks, and a taste of Austin’s playful side—perfect for beating the heat.
Which splash pads will we visit?
We’ll visit two or three of Austin’s best splash pads, depending on the day and group. Stops are chosen to maximize fun, variety, and proximity to murals or parks, so you get a mix of water play and sightseeing.
What local sights and neighborhoods will we visit?
In between splash pads, we’ll ride past Austin murals, parks, and neighborhood highlights. Expect stops or pass-bys that showcase the city’s creative street art, quirky architecture, and sunny green spaces.
Do I need to bring a bathing suit or towel?
Yes! We recommend bringing a bathing suit, towel, and a change of clothes if you want to stay comfortable after the splash pads. Quick-dry gear works best for a smooth ride between stops.
How challenging is the ride?
The tour is moderate and relaxed, thanks to pedal-assist e-bikes. You’ll get plenty of breaks, including splash pad stops, so the focus is on fun, sightseeing, and staying cool—not endurance.
What are e-bikes and how do they work?
E-bikes, or electric bikes, are bicycles equipped with a small electric motor that assists your pedaling. You can choose how much assistance you want, making it easier to tackle hills and longer distances.
Do I need to be in great shape to do an e-bike tour?
No! E-bikes make cycling accessible to people of all fitness levels. The electric assist helps you pedal, so you can enjoy the tour without feeling overly exerted.
What happens if it rains?
Tours may be rescheduled or canceled in the event of heavy rain or severe weather.
Do I need to book in advance?
It’s highly recommended to book in advance, especially during peak tourist seasons, to ensure availability.
How far can an e-bike go on a single charge?
The range of an e-bike depends on factors like terrain, rider weight, and level of assist, but typically ranges from 20 to 50 miles.
Do I need a drivers license to ride an e-bike?
No, a driver’s license is not required to ride an e-bike in Austin.
How do I adjust the level of electric assist?
E-bikes typically have a control panel on the handlebars that allows you to adjust the level of assist. Your guide will show you how to use it.
Are there different sizes of e-bikes available?
Yes, we offer e-bikes in various sizes to accommodate different riders.
Should I tip my guide?
If your guide did a great job, it is typical to tip a standard gratuity of 15% to 20% of the retail price of the tour. (Your guide would be happy to accept tips in cash or via a card.)
Cancellation Policy
To receive a full refund, you must contact us at least 24 hours before your scheduled ride. For groups of 10+ guests, cancellation must be made 48 hours in advance. DMC groups must cancel 1 week prior. Cancellations made less than the required notice will not be refunded.
If severe weather occurs—thunderstorms, sleet, hail, extreme heat or cold (below 50°F or above 101°F), or other unsafe conditions—we may cancel the tour for your safety. You will be offered a rescheduled date (subject to availability) or a full refund.
All participants must be able to ride a bike confidently. If a guest is unable to safely operate an e-bike on trails or streets, they will not be allowed to join the tour, and no refund will be issued.
