FAQs

What makes this tour different from other Austin food tours & e-bike tours?

This tour focuses exclusively on Austin’s plant-based cuisine. It combines two curated vegan tastings with scenic e-bike rides along Lady Bird Lake and vibrant neighborhoods, giving you a mix of culture, food, and city exploration that’s entirely vegan-friendly.

Which neighborhoods and sites will we ride through?

You’ll explore neighborhoods adjacent to downtown, enjoy views along Lady Bird Lake, and see key city highlights while stopping at two unique vegan eateries. Street art, architecture, and local flair are woven into the ride.

Can the tour accommodate food allergies?

Yes! When booking, you can note any allergies or dietary preferences besides vegan, and your guide will tailor the food stops accordingly.

Do I need prior e-bike experience?

No prior experience is required, but all riders must be confident riding a bike. E-bikes are easy to operate with pedal assist, making it approachable for most riders.

What are e-bikes and how do they work?

E-bikes, or electric bikes, are bicycles equipped with a small electric motor that assists your pedaling. You can choose how much assistance you want, making it easier to tackle hills and longer distances.

Do I need to be in great shape to do an e-bike tour?

No! E-bikes make cycling accessible to people of all fitness levels. The electric assist helps you pedal, so you can enjoy the tour without feeling overly exerted.

What happens if it rains?

Tours may be rescheduled or canceled in the event of heavy rain or severe weather.

Do I need to book in advance?

It’s highly recommended to book in advance, especially during peak tourist seasons, to ensure availability.

How far can an e-bike go on a single charge?

The range of an e-bike depends on factors like terrain, rider weight, and level of assist, but typically ranges from 20 to 50 miles.

Do I need a drivers license to ride an e-bike?

No, a driver’s license is not required to ride an e-bike in Austin.

How do I adjust the level of electric assist?

E-bikes typically have a control panel on the handlebars that allows you to adjust the level of assist. Your guide will show you how to use it.

Are there different sizes of e-bikes available?

Yes, we offer e-bikes in various sizes to accommodate different riders.

Should I tip my guide?

If your guide did a great job, it is typical to tip a standard gratuity of 15% to 20% of the retail price of the tour. (Your guide would be happy to accept tips in cash or via a card.)
