Description

Austin E-Bike City Tour: Murals, Parks & Local Neighborhoods

Cruise through Austin on a guided e-bike tour that blends city highlights with a more local, lived-in feel of the neighborhoods. With pedal-assist doing most of the work, you’ll cover more ground than you would on foot while still staying connected to what’s around you, from colorful murals and tucked-away streets to open green spaces and lakefront views. The route weaves through downtown and out toward places like Zilker Park and South Congress, giving you a well-rounded sense of how the city fits together.
What sets this ride apart is the rhythm of it. Music plays as you move between stops, and your guide mixes in stories, local history, and offbeat commentary that give context to what you’re seeing. You’ll pass through Rainey Street and 6th Street, stop near the Texas State Capitol, and roll by some of Austin’s most recognizable murals like “Greetings from Austin” and “I love you so much,” with time to hop off, take photos, and take it all in.
The pace stays relaxed, with a balance of riding and stops that keeps things engaging without feeling rushed. It’s a good option if you want to see a wide cross-section of Austin in a short amount of time, without it turning into a workout or a checklist of sights.

What makes this tour different from other Austin bike tours?

This tour leans more into the experience than just sightseeing. With music playing as you ride and a guide who mixes in stories, humor, and local perspective, it feels less like a standard tour and more like cruising the city with someone who knows it well.

What’s the overall vibe of the ride?

It’s relaxed, social, and a little playful. You’ll move at an easy pace, with music setting the tone between stops, and plenty of time to take photos, ask questions, and enjoy each location without feeling rushed.

Is this more of a workout or a casual ride?

More casual than strenuous. The pedal-assist e-bike does most of the work, so you can focus on the surroundings rather than the effort.

Is this a good tour if it’s my first time in Austin?

Yes—it’s a great introduction to the city. You’ll get a sense of how different neighborhoods connect while also picking up local recommendations along the way.

Will we have time for photos?

Definitely. The guide plans stops at some of the most photogenic spots, especially murals and scenic viewpoints, so you won’t feel rushed.

What’s the group dynamic like?

It’s typically small and social. The shared ride, music, and stops along the way make it easy to interact with others, but it never feels forced.

What is your flexible rebooking policy?

Our Flexible Rebooking option gives you added flexibility on your booking. For an additional $10 per person per tour, you'll have up to 2 hours from your tour's start time to change your booking. The Flexible Rebooking add-on you purchased allows you a single instance of rescheduling within 48 hours before the tour.

What does damage protection cover?

Equipment Damage Protection gives you full coverage on any accidental damage to the bike and any other equipment provided to you during the tour. As long as you handle the bike with reasonable care (for example: you don't perform stunts or acrobatics with the bike, or leave it parked in the middle of the road to be hit by a passing car), you can rest easy that any damage to the bike or our equipment is covered by the add-on insurance.

Is the tour guaranteed to run?

Our regular tours run even if there is only one guest booked, but we may cancel tours due to extreme weather conditions or unforeseen events. We will do our best to determine any cancellations as soon as possible and immediately inform customers via email of any changes to the event.

Should any of our tours be canceled for these reasons, we will give you the options to receive a full refund, reschedule on a different date, or pay for the remaining slots needed to reach the minimum number of participants.

What time should I show up?

It is important to arrive at least 15 minutes before the published start time. Your guide will use the 15 minutes to do a briefing on the tour, teach you how to operate the e-bike, and let you do a test ride to ensure you can ride the e-bike safely. Guests who arrive late or have trouble handling the e-bike will not be allowed to join the tour.

Can I still join the tour even if I've never ridden an e-bike before?

Yes, you don't typically need any prior experience. If you know how to ride a regular bike, transitioning to our e-bikes should be pretty easy. Before the tour, your guide will instruct you on operating our bikes and put you on a test ride to assess your capability. If you have trouble using our e-bike in some unlikely event, your guide will advise you not to proceed with the tour.

What steps do you take to ensure that I am able to safely ride the bike?

Our top priority is your safety and enjoyment! Before the tour, our guide conducts a quick safety briefing and lets you take the bike for a spin in our parking lot. In the rare case that the guide feels you need more practice to operate the bike, he will prevent you from joining the tour and we'll provide a refund of your booking. Rest assured, our 1,000+ guests consistently rave about how easy and fun our bikes are to ride!

Are your tours family-friendly?

Yes, we designed our tours to be family-friendly! Children as young as 5 years old can join our tours as passengers, and youths 12 and older can drive their own bike. ‍For passengers (ages 5-11): Children must be at least 3'6" tall to ride as a passenger on the back of the bike. Our e-bikes are equipped with passenger foot pegs and an extra-long seat to safely accommodate both a driver and passenger. ‍For drivers (ages 12+): Youths at least 12 years old may drive their own bike, provided they are at least 4'8" tall and are accompanied by a parent or guardian who provides written consent.
