What is the pace of the tour?
The tour is designed to be relaxed, allowing time to enjoy the food, ride safely, and take in the city sights between stops.
What makes this tour different from other Austin e-bike tours?
Unlike standard city or scenic rides, the Foodie Tour focuses on Austin’s vibrant culinary scene. You’ll ride at a relaxed pace between two carefully selected food stops, sampling small plates, local drinks, and iconic Austin flavors while your guide shares music, stories, and local insight. This tour blends sightseeing, neighborhood exploration, and dining into a single immersive experience, giving you a taste of both the city and its evolving food culture.
What are e-bikes and how do they work?
E-bikes, or electric bikes, are bicycles equipped with a small electric motor that assists your pedaling. You can choose how much assistance you want, making it easier to tackle hills and longer distances.
Do I need to be in great shape to do an e-bike tour?
No! E-bikes make cycling accessible to people of all fitness levels. The electric assist helps you pedal, so you can enjoy the tour without feeling overly exerted.
What happens if it rains?
Tours may be rescheduled or canceled in the event of heavy rain or severe weather.
Do I need to book in advance?
It’s highly recommended to book in advance, especially during peak tourist seasons, to ensure availability.
How far can an e-bike go on a single charge?
The range of an e-bike depends on factors like terrain, rider weight, and level of assist, but typically ranges from 20 to 50 miles.
Do I need a drivers license to ride an e-bike?
No, a driver’s license is not required to ride an e-bike in Austin.
How do I adjust the level of electric assist?
E-bikes typically have a control panel on the handlebars that allows you to adjust the level of assist. Your guide will show you how to use it.
Are there different sizes of e-bikes available?
Yes, we offer e-bikes in various sizes to accommodate different riders.
Should I tip my guide?
If your guide did a great job, it is typical to tip a standard gratuity of 15% to 20% of the retail price of the tour. (Your guide would be happy to accept tips in cash or via a card.)
