Spend a magical evening on the water with the Arizona Glow Paddle Experience at Lake Pleasant Regional Park. This adventure is seasonal, running from March through October. One of the most unique experiences in the Phoenix area, this sunset kayak tour takes you around the beautiful shorelines all while watching the sun sink behind the Bradshaw Mountains, ending your trip with the amazing paddle in the glow of the Arizona sunset.

This guided kayak tour is a great way to relax and to get up close and personal with nature. You will paddle through some gorgeous hidden coves, all while enjoying some breathtaking scenery. Wildlife you may expect to see includes wild burros, deer, javelina, coyotes, and multiple bird species, including bald eagles. Our Sunset Glow Tour is truly a spectacular experience, offering unobstructed views of the vast, unending palette of purples, pinks, reds, and oranges that paint the famous Arizona sunsets. These trips are relaxing yet exciting and one of the most memorable experiences imaginable.

Is this trip appropriate for beginners?

Our Guided Tours are a great excursion for families, couples, groups, and individuals with any level of paddling experience. First-time paddlers are always welcome. We give you instructions while on dry land before we head out into the water. If you need additional assistance once in the water, we will paddle at a leisurely pace and help instruct you through the tour.

Can we bring our dog?

Pets are not permitted on the kayak tour.

How much does it cost to get into Lake Pleasant Regional Park?

Park entry is $7/vehicle or annual passes are available for $85. Annual passes include access to all Maricopa County Parks.

Is there camping at Lake Pleasant Regional Park?

There is camping at the park! Camping fees range from $15 – $40 / night.

Are there any wildlife viewing opportunities while kayaking at sunset?

Yes, Lake Pleasant is home to a variety of wildlife, including birds, fish, and sometimes even wild burros. Sunset is a great time to observe animals as they become more active during the cooler parts of the day.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations must be made at least 48 hours prior to the tour date for the tour fee to be 100% refundable. For cancellations made less than 48 hours prior, fees are non-refundable. For private tours, cancellations must be made 72 hours prior to the tour date for a 100% refund. We reserve the right to reschedule or cancel kayak tours due to adverse weather or lake conditions. In the event of cancellation or rescheduling by us, your payment will be 100% refunded or applied to another trip at your discretion.
