Not every great Maui adventure has to start before sunrise. This afternoon snorkel cruise lets you enjoy a relaxed morning before heading out to explore some of West Maui’s most beautiful reefs. Departing from Kā‘anapali, you’ll cruise along the coastline to one of the area's top snorkeling locations, chosen by the captain based on the day's ocean conditions to provide the clearest water and best marine life encounters.
Once in the water, you'll have the chance to snorkel among Hawaiian green sea turtles (Honu), colorful tropical fish, coral formations, and the incredible underwater world that makes West Maui one of Hawaii's premier snorkeling destinations. Every trip is a little different, and depending on conditions, you may also spot rays, eels, octopus, or other reef creatures. Keep an eye on the water during the cruise as well—spinner dolphins and bottlenose dolphins are frequently seen riding the boat's wake!
After snorkeling, climb back aboard and settle in for a relaxing cruise back to Kā‘anapali with a selection of pupus (Hawaiian-style appetizers) and a premium open bar featuring local beer, wine, champagne, handcrafted cocktails, and non-alcoholic beverages. What is a catamaran?
Catamarans are boats with two hulls interconnected with a bridge deck where most activities are done. It’s the best boat for sailing seas with huge waves since it’s designed to reduce wave-induced motion and use only a small amount of power for propulsion. Also, it’s the best boat for wavy afternoon dives!
What drinks and food are included?
You won’t have to worry about what drinks to bring on board as there will be a Premium open bar for all guests aged 21+ with proper ID.
- Complimentary juice, water, Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite, lemonade and non-alcoholic beverages are available to all guests.
- We offer two local beers you can enjoy while you marvel over the beautiful Maui Sea, plus a selection of white wine, champagne, bourbon, light rum, dark rum, and vodka. In addition, there will be crafted drinks just for your liking.
Includes pupus (appetizers) for the guests onboard. It’s a trip with eyes filled with stunning marine life underwater and a stomach full of delicious food.

How many people can the afternoon snorkel accommodate?
The best thing about this snorkeling trip is that it can accommodate up to 48 people. The more, the merrier, they say! This is your chance to meet new people while you relish the beauty underwater.
What is a "Beach Loading Catamaran"?
A beach loading catamaran means our vessels load directly from the sands of Ka’anapali Beach rather than a concrete dock or a harbor. To board, you will walk across the wet sand and step into the ocean a few paces before climbing onto our custom dropdown staircase. Because of this unique and exciting boarding style, we do not recommend our trips for individuals with mobility issues or anyone who has trouble walking completely unassisted. The vessel is entirely inaccessible to wheelchairs.
Do I need to know how to swim in order to snorkel?
Yes. To participate in snorkeling, we strictly require that all guests possess basic, unassisted swimming abilities. While we provide plenty of flotation options (like pool noodles and snorkel vests) to keep you perfectly comfortable, all of our snorkel sites are offshore in open water ranging from 25 to 40 feet deep. You will not be able to touch the ocean floor at any point.
What if I'm prone to motion sickness?
Our large, dual-hulled luxury catamarans are inherently much more stable than single-hulled boats or rafts, greatly minimizing rocking. Taking an over-the-counter preventative medication (like Dramamine) an hour prior to check-in can also significantly improve your comfort.
Which snorkeling spots will we visit?
Your captain picks the best site based on the day's water conditions, choosing from popular West Maui spots such as Honolua Bay, Cliff House, Olowalu, and Mala Wharf, among others. A specific site can't be guaranteed in advance since conditions change daily.
Cancellation Policy
Guests who have selected TripSafe
Those who have booked directly with Sea Maui and selected the TripSafe option while booking, you’re all set! You can cancel or reschedule your tour for ANY reason all the way up until check in time (30 minutes prior to departure). You must submit an email request or call directly to the outfitter no later than 30 mins in advance of departure and you will be refunded for the full booking amount (less the cost of the TripSafe protection and associated booking fees). You can also choose the option to reschedule at this time, based on availability. All customers will receive a full refund or the option to reschedule in the case of operator cancellation due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
Guests without TripSafe protection
Our cancellation policy for those without TripSafe protection is 48 hours prior to departure time. To cancel, refund or reschedule your tour please call or email your outfitter directly at least 48 hours in advance. Once within the 48 hour window no refunds will be honored. You MUST call or email to cancel. No-shows will be charged the full price. Private charters and other special events will require 7 days notice for a refund. Third party vouchers or tickets not sold by Sea Maui may have additional refund restrictions out of our control, Sea Maui will not be responsible for the refunding of any payment taken by a third party vendor but will work with you and the 3rd party to resolve any issues to the best of our ability. All customers will receive a full refund or the option to reschedule in the case of operator cancellation due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
