Description

Napa Valley Weekly Bike Rental in Yountville

Seven days in Yountville with a bike is the Napa Valley trip most visitors only imagine. The town itself is walkable, restaurant-dense, and perfectly placed at the midpoint of the Vine Trail — which means every morning you wake up with the entire valley accessible in both directions without getting in a car. Ride north one day through the Oakville corridor past Opus One, Groth, and Silver Oak. Ride south another day to the Oxbow Market in Downtown Napa. Spend a third day going nowhere in particular, stopping at whatever tasting room looks interesting from the trail. By the end of the week you'll have a working knowledge of the valley that most weekend visitors never develop.

The Yountville shop is steps from Bouchon Bakery, Washington Street's dining strip, and multiple tasting rooms — making it as easy to lock up the bike for an afternoon in town as it is to cover serious miles. The comfort cruiser is more than sufficient for leisurely daily riding; the pedal-assist e-bike is the upgrade for guests who want to reach St. Helena and back in a day without breaking a sweat; and the road bike is for cyclists who want to use a week in Napa to put in serious miles — Silverado Trail, the Oakville Cross Road, and the back roads through Rutherford and Oakville are all within easy reach of the shop.

Duration

7 days. Pick up on day one during shop hours; return by shop closing on day seven.

Location / Where to Pick Up

6500 Washington Street, Yountville, CA 94599 Open in Google Maps

A park-and-ride lot is available in Yountville at Solano Ave. and California Drive (across from the Vintner's Golf Course). Open daily 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM (closed Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day).

FAQs

What bikes are available for rental?

Three categories of bikes are available, in multiple sizes:

Comfort Cruisers — Upright, relaxed-position bikes ideal for casual trail riding. Sizes: Small (5'0"–5'5"), Medium (5'5"–5'8"), Large (5'8"–5'11"), X-Large (5'11"–6'3").

Electric Bikes (Specialized Turbo Como) — Pedal-assist with four assist levels, throttle, 20 mph top speed, and 60+ mile range. Sizes: SM/MED (5'0"–5'7"), LG (5'8"–6'1"), XL (6'2"–6'6") (throttle not available on XL).

Road Bikes (Specialized Roubaix SL8) — Performance bikes with electronic shifting for experienced cyclists. Seven frame sizes from 44cm (4'8"–5'0") to 61cm (6'2"–6'5"); most sizes feature SRAM eTAP 1×12 groupset; 58cm features Shimano 105 Di2.

Kids' Bikes & Attachments:

  • Kids Bike 20" Tires — Ages 6–10 | Height: 40"–55" (102–139 cm)
  • Kids Bike 24" Tires — Ages 7–12 | Height: 44"–62" (112–156 cm)
  • Kids Tag-Along — Ages 4–7 | Max 85 lbs (38.5 kg) | Comfort Cruiser only
  • Kids Trailer — Ages 12+ months | Max 80 lbs (36 kg) | Comfort Cruiser or e-bike

Can I return to a different shop location?

Yes — point-to-point rides are available across all three locations. A $20-per-bike Relocation Fee applies when you return to a different shop from where you started. The three locations are:

  • Downtown Napa — 1275 McKinstry Street, Napa, CA 94559
  • Yountville — 6500 Washington Street, Yountville, CA 94599
  • St. Helena — 2800 Main Street, St. Helena, CA 94574 (at Charles Krug Winery)

Note that there is no Calistoga location; the St. Helena shop is the closest (8 miles south of Calistoga). Shuttles and bike retrieval services are not offered.

Do I need to book in advance?

Reservations are strongly recommended, especially during peak season (May–October) and on weekends. Inventory is limited and the shop's rental fleet is frequently fully booked on busy days.

What can I realistically cover in a week from Yountville?

A week from Yountville opens up the full valley. Suggested approach: day one north to Oakville and back (8 miles / 13 km round trip); day two south to Downtown Napa and Oxbow Market (18 miles / 29 km round trip on the Vine Trail); day three a winery-focused day with advance tasting appointments; day four a slower ride staying local to Yountville and Washington Street; days five through seven for revisiting favorites or pushing further — the full Yountville-to-St. Helena stretch is approximately 12 miles (19 km) one way and is the next big goal for e-bike guests. Note that the Vine Trail segment connecting Yountville to St. Helena is currently in development (targeted for 2028); the current route involves local roads.
