Weekly Bike Rental in St. Helena, Napa Valley
A week from St. Helena is the deepest you can go in Napa Valley by bike. The shop sits at the gateway to the valley's newest and most breathtaking trail segment — 8 miles (13 km) of car-free Vine Trail north through private vineyard parcels to Calistoga — and a week gives you the time to ride it multiple times, at different times of day, in different weather, and at a pace that most visitors never get to experience. One day north to Castello di Amorosa and Calistoga. One day south toward Yountville on quiet back roads. One day nowhere in particular, just following whatever catches your eye on the trail.
St. Helena itself rewards a slower visit — its historic Main Street, boutique wineries, and some of Napa's best farm-to-table restaurants are all within easy walking or riding distance of the shop. The pedal-assist e-bike is the recommended upgrade for week-long guests: 60+ miles of range means you never have to think about battery, and the throttle is there for the end of a long day when you're ready to coast home.

Located at Charles Krug Winery on Main Street. Street parking is available in St. Helena; be respectful of posted time limits and private property signs. Open daily 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM (closed Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day).

- Kids bikes available for ages 6+ and 40 inches (102 cm) and taller. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

What bikes are available for rental?
Two categories of bikes are available, in multiple sizes:
Comfort Cruisers — Upright, relaxed-position bikes ideal for casual trail riding. Sizes: Small (5'0"–5'5"), Medium (5'5"–5'8"), Large (5'8"–5'11"), X-Large (5'11"–6'3").
Electric Bikes (Specialized Turbo Como) — Pedal-assist with four assist levels, throttle, 20 mph top speed, and 60+ mile range. Sizes: SM/MED (5'0"–5'7"), LG (5'8"–6'1"), XL (6'2"–6'6") (throttle not available on XL).

Can I return to a different shop location?
Yes — point-to-point rides are available across all three locations. A $20-per-bike Relocation Fee applies when you return to a different shop from where you started. The three locations are:
- Downtown Napa — 1275 McKinstry Street, Napa, CA 94559
- Yountville — 6500 Washington Street, Yountville, CA 94599
- St. Helena — 2800 Main Street, St. Helena, CA 94574 (at Charles Krug Winery)
Note that there is no Calistoga location; the St. Helena shop is the closest (8 miles south of Calistoga). Shuttles and bike retrieval services are not offered.
Do I need to book in advance?
Reservations are strongly recommended, especially during peak season (May–October) and on weekends. Inventory is limited and the shop's rental fleet is frequently fully booked on busy days.
What can I realistically cover in a week from St. Helena?
A full week gives you time to ride the northern Vine Trail segment to Calistoga multiple times and still have days left for other routes. A suggested week might look like: day one and two on the northern trail at different paces; day three south toward Yountville on local roads; day four a winery-focused ride with planned appointments at producers near the trail; day five a leisurely St. Helena neighborhood ride; and days six and seven for whatever you want to revisit. The Napa-to-St. Helena distance is 21 miles (34 km) — a full day trip from Napa, or a comfortable loop from St. Helena on an e-bike.
Can I visit Castello di Amorosa during the week?
Yes — and a week-long rental is perfect for making the most of it. Book your Castello appointment about 1 hour after your planned bike pickup to allow for the 5-mile (8 km) ride north. You can visit on a different day than you first arrive, making it a dedicated day trip rather than squeezing it into a tight schedule.

- A minimum of 48 hrs notice (prior to tour meet time) is required in order to receive a partial refund.
- Reservations are strictly non-refundable within 48 hours of rental start.
- Cancellations for any reason will incur a 10% cancellation fee before refund. Online booking fees are also non-refundable.
- Alternately, you may request a full credit Gift Card towards a future rescheduled booking.
