Description
4-Hour Boise E-Bike Rental — Explore the Boise River Greenbelt
Four hours on the Boise River Greenbelt is where the ride really opens up. With the shop directly across the street from the path, you can be cruising along the Boise River within minutes — and with four hours on the clock, you have enough time to push east all the way to Lucky Peak State Park and back. That's roughly a 20-mile (32 km) round trip through cottonwood corridors, river canyon views, and one of Boise's most beloved stretches of outdoor space, with battery to spare.
The Pedego bikes make the distance effortless, and the pace is entirely yours — stop for a photo, find a bench along the river, or follow the path into one of the Greenbelt's many parks along the way. Staff will give you the full route briefing, tips on where to stop, and a practice run on the controls before you head out.

FAQs
Where can I ride in 4 hours from the shop?
With 4 hours, the most popular destination is Lucky Peak State Park — approximately 10 miles (16 km) east of the shop via the Greenbelt, making for a 20-mile (32 km) round trip at a comfortable pace with stops. The route follows the Boise River through Barber Park, into the canyon, and out to the reservoir at Lucky Peak. Heading west, the Greenbelt connects through Julia Davis Park, Zoo Boise, and continues all the way toward Eagle — a great option if you prefer a flatter, more urban ride.
What is a Pedego electric bike and how does it work?
Pedego electric bikes use a pedal-assist system — as you pedal, the motor kicks in to amplify your effort. You can dial the assist level up or down depending on how much of a workout you want. Most Pedego models also have a throttle, which propels the bike forward without pedaling — useful for starting from a stop or cruising without effort. The motor doesn't do all the work; you still pedal, but hills feel flat and headwinds disappear.
How far can I go on a single charge?
Most Pedego bikes are rated for 30–60 miles (48–97 km) per charge, and some newer models exceed 70 miles (113 km). On the Boise Greenbelt, riders regularly make the full ride to Lucky Peak State Park and back — about 20 miles (32 km) — without coming close to depleting the battery. Staff can advise on range based on the route you're planning.
Do I need experience riding a bicycle to rent an e-bike?
You should be comfortable riding a standard bicycle before renting an e-bike. The pedal-assist adds speed and power, which makes basic bike-handling skills important. Staff will walk you through the controls and give you practice time in the parking lot before you head out.
Are helmets required?
Yes — helmets are included with every rental and are required to be worn while riding.
Do I need to be a strong cyclist?
Not at all. The pedal-assist motor levels the playing field — no prior fitness is needed to ride comfortably. The Boise Greenbelt is mostly flat, making it genuinely accessible for riders of all abilities.
Do you have bikes for kids or families?
Yes — tandem electric bikes are available for a parent and child to ride together, and bikes with child seats are also available. A Burley trailer can also be added at checkout for an extra fee, suitable for kids up to 100 lbs (45 kg). The trailer is for children only — no pets. Contact the shop to confirm current inventory and availability.
Can I bring my dog?
Pets are not permitted in the Burley trailer or on any rental bikes. Dogs are welcome on the Greenbelt but must be leashed and managed independently — they cannot be transported on the rental equipment.
What is the weather policy?
Rentals go forward rain or shine. In the event of severe weather or unsafe conditions, contact the shop directly to discuss your options.
What happens if I get a flat tire or the bike has a mechanical issue?
Contact the shop directly if you experience a mechanical issue while out on a rental. Guests are responsible for bikes during the rental period — keep bikes locked when stopped and never leave them unattended.
Is parking available at the shop?
Yes — free parking is available on-site at 393 W Parkcenter Blvd.
Do I need to book in advance?
Booking in advance is recommended, especially on weekends and during peak season (May through September). The shop is open Tuesday through Sunday, 10:00 AM–6:00 PM; closed Monday.
What time does the shop open and close?
Tuesday through Saturday, 10:00 AM–6:00 PM. Sunday, 10:00 AM–6:00 PM. Closed Monday. All bikes must be returned by closing time unless otherwise arranged (24-hour rental).
Are e-bikes allowed on the Boise River Greenbelt?
Yes — Class 1 and Class 2 Pedego e-bikes are permitted on the Greenbelt. The majority of the path is paved with asphalt or concrete. A short unpaved section exists near Barber Park; your rental agreement specifies paved paths only, so staff will let you know which sections to follow.
